Burning dog questions answered here.,
By
This review is from: Everything Dog: What Kids Really Want to Know About Dogs (Kids' FAQs) (Paperback)
Answer such questions as "Why do dogs like people?", "Why do dogs have cold, wet noses?", and "Can dogs recognize other people in your family by their smell?" Dog lovers will devour the interesting and enlightening information this book presents in one sitting. Has a page listing dog breed superlatives (fastest, smartest, etc.) and extensive resources for further study. Bright and fun book design that is very easy on the eyes. Everything You Wanted to Know About Dogs But Were Afraid to Ask,
By
This review is from: Everything Dog: What Kids Really Want to Know About Dogs (Kids' FAQs) (Paperback)
My daughter was charmed by Marty Crisp's EVERYTHING DOG, which answers questions the author and journalist has collected from children over the years. These age-old problems include: "Why do some dogs' ears stick up while others flop down?" "Why aren't dogs supposed to eat chocolate?" and "Why do dogs lick us? Do they wish we'd lick them back?"
Crisp's responses are invariably brief and to the point. She strives to have well researched answers that, despite their brevity, are not vague or too general. Crisp's writing is lively, and occasionally even funny, such as when she writes, "Besides the feel of the wind in his fur, there are wonderful smells sliding by your car every time your dog sticks his nose out the window, kind of like smell-a-vision" (p. 55). Not the most elegant sentence, but it made my daughter laugh out loud. This book is not a guide to raising dogs, but it makes a fun complement to works of that sort. The question-and-(brief) answer format makes for quick reading. I would assess that the book is aimed at 8-to-11-year olds.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Everything Dog: What Kids Really Want to Know About Dogs (Kids' FAQs) (Paperback)
In this book, it has so many different facts about dogs, i don't even know where to start.
Marty Crisp talks about why dogs like people, how long their memory span is, and what dogs have cold wet noses for, including many other things. i am a big fan of this book. I know a lot about dogs, and their one of my fave animals, but i still learned quite a few good facts about them. I highly recomend this book to anyone who likes dogs, and also ckeck out Everything Cat and Everything Dolphin too!

I bought this book for my grand-daughter who loves dogs. She wants to know everything about them. She just turned 8 years old and this book is very easy for her to read. It has lots of fun and enjoyable facts that kids and adults will find neat to know and share with others. I definitely would reccommend it for any animal lover.

Purchased this book for my 5 year old after we got a dog. It has a lot of interesting topics. Some of the words are a little big for him but I am able to explain the basic concept. The author doesn't spend too much time on one topic so my 5 year old doesn't get bored. Overall a really good book and I would highly recommend it!

Although designed for a child, any adult would enjoy this book, too. I bought it for a child's gift and it was received with enthusiasm.
