I love Bobbi Brown makeup and I have most of her books. However this one fell short, since it is very basic and there is not everything. For instance, there are way too many pages dedicated to eyeglass frames and no mention on mature/hooded eyes. This book is for beginners and young women only. With glasses. A rip-off for me.

This book is not at all what I expected, and doesn't cover "everything." It shows make up on younger (under 25) women only. I would have appreciated more photos of eye shapes and looks, but these were illustrations. There were plenty of photos of glasses frames, and as a woman who wears glasses I was excited by the possibilities and disappointed with the reality. I'm not sure that this is even a book for beginners, because there's no step-by-step or real instructions. It's maybe a look-book to take to a makeup artist. [I received this book through a giveaway on goodreads.com]

Bobbi Brown delivers another good book of tips. This is a small book, and not very expensive. It covers choosing products and tools, applying make-up, choosing colors for different eye colors and shapes, and creating 10 different looks beyond the basics. The photos are wonderful, making it easy to follow the tips. It is Bobbi Brown's style, so most of the advice is oriented to a very natural look. Yes, there is a short chapter on make-up with glasses, and it's a reasonable length. I found the images to be better than most that you see on the internet. The book is a great supplement to other resources, providing a strong set of guidelines to build from.

All the models are quite young. I was very disappointed. Even the glasses tips held little new information for me.

Waste of my money.
She needs to list the names of the makeup she uses in her books.
You can't mimic the look if you have no idea what she used.

Not much new here if you have Bobbi Brown's other books. I was hoping that it would have more advice on making up older eyes, but it didn't. The only new information was on choosing eyeglass frames for your face shape, but it didn't even include my rather common face shape (rectangle or oblong)! For me this book was worthless, but others may get something out of this if they don't own other Bobbi Brown books or if they have a different shaped face.

This book was ok if you need something basic. I was excited when I received my book but was quickly disappointed. I was hoping for something more advanced and truly covered "everything" about eyes with how to's on looks.

I was so happy to have won this book in a giveaway and to give my honest review about it. I have to say that although I do love makeup books I never would buy them. They are always way too big and heavy and that is just very inconvenient for me. So the fact that this book is small and light and you could put it in your bag to travel with if you wanted to was a a big deal to me. I thought that all the tips were great. I really loved the fact that she had health tips to go along with the makeup tips as well as pictures of the different brushes and what they do. I would most definitely buy this book as a gift for people that love makeup.

Really nice book with excellent hints for eye make up! The chapter about glasses was very helpful to me who wear glasses.
I recommend it!

This little book totally opened my eyes (ho ho!) to how much can be accomplished with just a few simple strokes of color and a set of decent brushes.

Most of it is a "look book," while the entire second half (!) is dedicated to eyeglasses. Trying the different looks has given me a lot more confidence in my own morning experiments: I think the book is best enjoyed not as an eye makeup "recipe guide," but a real primer in understanding makeup. It's the difference between reading a cookbook and actually learning the basic techniques of cooking, if that makes sense.

I'm actually just popping in to leave this 5-star review *before* I purchase a second copy of the book, this time as a gift for a friend! She is, at the tender age of 32, a complete makeup newbie, and I think this handy little book will totally demystify eye makeup for her. A lot of reviews so far have warned that Everything Eyes is "basic," and that's true, but for some of us, that's exactly what we need! This said, she and I probably know far less about makeup than the average 15-year-old girl, which is to say, it probably makes a nice gift for a teen or tween. Ha!

So if you're already an old pro at eye makeup, pass this one up. BUT if you're a relative newcomer who doesn't know an angle brush from a smudge, or if, like me, it's never occurred to you to bother knowing the difference between "concealer" and "correcter" (?!?!), Bobbi Brown is your friend.
