Top instumental music release!,
This review is from: In Everything Give Thanks (Audio CD)
Tenebre is a guitar/bass/drums trio with a unique jazzy math-rock sound. The songs are nicely composed and more about delivering a nice tune than displaying chops. Guitarist Max Foreman utilizes a lot of tapping in his playing, but without any kind of metal/shredder overtones. The rhythm section of drummer Daniel Pearce and acoustic bass player Patrick Taylor can rock out or get rather jazzy, often taking the lead as Foreman hammers out circular figures on guitar. Cello, trumpet and keys nicely augment a few tunes, but the trio has a fabulous sound. Very nice.
