Gerilyn J. Bielakiewicz (Malden, MA) is the author of The Everything® Dog Training and Tricks Book and the cofounder of Canine University®, a successful dog training school located in Malden, MA. Canine University® and its programs have been featured on the local NBC, CBS, and WB affiliates, as well as in print media. Ms. Bielakiewicz is a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a member of Therapy Dogs International, and a field instructor for Paws with a Cause.

Paul S. This book was much more thorough than the other books we looked at, especially the "Dummies" book. Maybe not as fun to read, but much more useful.

The author clearly has a great deal of knowledge and experience with golden's, but the book is extremely poorly written. The topics explored are very relevant and useful, but discussion was cosmetic at best. Nothing was ever described with enough detail to be useful. It felt like the author wrote the book over a weekend without putting any serious thought into what they wanted to discuss or convey.

This is an easy read, and lots of good tips. I would also recommend Golden Retrievers for Dummies, this has the most thorough information of any Golden Retriever book I have read.
