5.0 out of 5 stars As far as grammar books go..., December 28, 2005

this is a good one. Grammar can be a boring topic, however this book is easy to read and it explains grammar and style very simply at an affordable price. I purchased this book as a refresher. There were many rules that I had forgotten and I had been relying on the spell checker within Word to ensure my documents were grammatically correct. But, I seriously believe that it's important to have a handy reference book to look something up, if you feel spell checker isn't correct.

The Deluxe Transitive Vampire - grammar dispensed from the hands of a skillful writer.
(Conservative-minded families may want to check out the drawings first.)
The Little Brown Handbook - when I want scholarly nitty gritty.
Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips - quick, accurate,& entertaining.
Painless Grammar - E-Z book for all ages.
English Grammar Workbook for Dummies - love the coverage on verb tenses.
