Great Book To Buy, Especially for the Begginer,
By A Customer
This review is from: Everything About Guitar Scales (Paperback)
This is a great one for the price. It has more than enough information and examples about scales to learn that will help you improve your playing considerably. If you need help on theory, it also has some of that too. It also has the chords to play for the major and minor keys. This is one of the must have if you are shopping for a guitar book. Your friends will want to borrow this one.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Everything About Guitar Scales (Paperback)
This is a good book that covers everything you need to know about scales, but if you are a moron like me you might need a book that dumbs things down to your level more, you have to be fairly intelligent to learn with this book since it just presents all the facts and doesn't go out of the way to dumb things down so every simple minded Joe Blow can understand them.

Excellent Reference Book.,
This review is from: Everything About Guitar Scales (Paperback)
This book is an excellent reference book. It combines notation with scale templates and tab. It is a great balance. The text is not merely filler but highly descriptive. Although it is not as jam-packed with info as "The Guitar Grimiore," it is a great deal more accessable to the average reader.

Good book - If you already know theory....,

It's a good book, but VERY hard to follow. It's like a catch 22. You need to know your theory to understand it.
www.absoutelyunderstandguitar.com ... I bought that course after watching it, I understood the books. I owned these books for 4 years. They collected dust on the shelf because they were too hard to follow. I bought these books because my guitar teacher (at the time) suggested I buy them for him to teach me theory. I realized the classes were going no where fast and costing me too much money, so I quit before we even got off the first chapter of the Chord book (never touched the scales) Well recently I came across the 32 hour DVD courses from www.absolutelyunderstandguitar.com ... all I can say is WOW! Get the course if you can. Don't waste your money on guitar teachers. You get 32 hours of a teacher (who really knows his #$%#) teaching you theory. The lessons flow together. I retained all the information. He made theory very easy to learn. After I finished the 32 hours, I went back to the Everything about Scales and Everything about Chords books. They're great books now that I understand what he's talking about! |
