A Must Read,
By
This review is from: Everything Happens for a Reason (Hardcover)
To really believe that "everything happens for a reason" even though we may not understand what the reasons are at this moment, tomorrow, or even at a later time is a concept to me that is truly mind-boggling. Knowing that everything has a purpose can make you stop and reflect on why situations happen, become aware of unresolved issues, and look at life differently. If you are searching for an understanding of why life on earth is often painful and unfair, or just a reason of what our purpose is in life----this book is a must read.

something new?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Everything Happens for a Reason (Hardcover)
This book scored highest for its clarity and straightforward style. It make the point that these issues of life and afterlife can be discussed in a sipmple manner that is not simplistic. Similar books often become highly esoteric and end up talking about ideas rather than realities. The treatment of liffe experience as being educative can seem a little narrow and therefore superficial but this book makes a convincing case for experience having some sort of educative purpose that is unique to each one of us. Although the book will probably not convince those that are predisposed against these kinds of issues , afterlife and such, it is a good read and communicates to a broad readearship base. It is written with aparent courage in that there are no vague outs for the author. she simply gives a straightforward account of her experiences with real stories that she believes in. This gives it a refreshing style. There is a strong emphasis on choice and freedom and is therefore very western in slant, but this makes it appealing as well.

I was led to this book for a reason!,
By
This review is from: Everything Happens for a Reason (Hardcover)
Two days after losing my father, I was walking down the aisle in a bookstore looking for "Walking on the Wind", a book on Native American Spirituality. I have always believed that things happen for a reason from my own perspective, when my eyes made contact with this book I picked it up. As I glanced through the pages it was as if I didn't realize that it was about the afterlife and mediums, I had never really thought much about that stuff, especially mediums, and most likely, in my clear mind, wouldn't buy such a book...it wasn't until I had bought it and several days later started to read it, that I really realized what it was about. I never buy a book without knowing clearly what it is about, I always glance through the pages to get a good understanding of it, as I did with this book, but for some "reason" I didn't get the real picture of the book, just that it was a spritual book and seemed good.
Consequently, this book has spoken to me in a way that has opened me up to the accpetance and understanding of something that has been around me all my life; sensitivity to other planes. On a flight from Denver to LA, returning to China where I live, after an unplanned return home for my father's failing health and finally death, I was sitting next to a man who, through gradual converstion, turned out to have psychic powers. He told me that I have psychic tendencies of some kind, that my father is very proud of me and that I have some lower abdominal blockage and should be careful by eating more fruits and vegetables. The last one was the clincher because I hadn't had a bowel movement (sorry) in almost 4 days! I still hadn't started reading the book and didn't do so until the flight back to China. Now, I just finished it 5 minutes ago and have learned much from this book. Of course, one person resounded that this book is only to make the author more well known, but as for me, I am coming from a very laymen background in this stuff so I need spoon feeding, unlike the select few who may already be well versed in this medium stuff. This book is clearly not written for the medium but for the "small", the person who knows little about this phenomenon. I wouldn't pick up a "Jack and Jill" book at 40 years of age and expect it to speak to me at any depth. There again "Everything Happens for a Reason". Through reading this book I have become open to my father's passing, which I experienced first hand, standing at his death-bed-side remeniscing of the times we spent together and thanking him for some of the little things I may have never mentioned. From the start, each event had been prefaced by a premonition where I knew what I had to do without any question; I had to return home, I had to stay with him through the night on the night of his passing (even though my mind was telling me to go home and sleep). By reading this book, I now know he is with me and has visited me and expressed his on-going love for me, I even know that my most treasured pet had given me signs, 4 years ago when he passed, to let me know he is OK. I believe they are all happy and will be there for me, along with others that I may not even be aware of. This book, no matter how simple and trite it may seen to other meduims, has deffinately spoken to me and has introduced and lead me to a new plane of perception. Peacefully, Reader

Excellent, down-to-earth, description of mediumship,
By anne (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everything Happens for a Reason (Hardcover)
This book is sensitively written and presents a clear description of mediumship. I recommend it for those who are interested in the psychic realm and wish to learn more about how spirit actually communicates with the living. I also recommend it for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, and are seeking comfort. In a down-to-earth, sensitive style, Suzane Northrop offers a view of the spirit world, and describes spirit communication from the medium's point of view. Through personal accounts of her many clients' experiences, the reader gains hope and comfort. Through reading this book, the reader will understand that everything DOES happen for a reason, and there is more to life than meets the eye. A definite must-read for anyone seriously pondering the supernatural.

Everything Happens for a Reason,
By Laura Dabrowski (South Bound Brook, NJ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everything Happens for a Reason (Hardcover)
I found this book to be easy to read and easy to understand. It opens the door for why things happen and how to deal with the situation. It is most comforting and the author makes you feel like you are there and she is talking to YOU. My only suggestion, please do books on tape so that this message can be heard by the blind, disabled, and the very busy person.

Excellent!,

This review is from: Everything Happens for a Reason (Hardcover)
I just finished reading Suzane's latest book, Everything Happens For A Reason, and absolutely loved it and highly recommend it. Her writing style is easy, relaxed - as though I'm chatting with a dear friend over a cup of tea. Although this spirit connection/afterlife is something I've always believed in and indeed have had visits from my grandparents, son, and father, all of whom have crossed over, I found the book to validate my beliefs and touch my heart and soul. I cried at some places in the book. I smiled at others. I felt compassion and tenderness for the people's whose stories are illustrated within. As with many people, I have experienced a great deal of loss in my life and I found this book to be comforting and reassuring. I have visited psychics since my divorce in 1984 and found a medium in my area in the past year and have visited him five times now - and intend to go again. My son passed tragically when he was 7 years old, my father passed four years ago, my grandparents passed through natural causes but they still remain with me and have appeared to me three times (once together, once each separately). I feel my son take my hand and smile up at me at the times I was deeply grieving a loss. My therapist is a metaphysician and has channeled my son. The medium I see has channeled both my father and my son. Most of my friends and acquaintances think I'm nuts and don't want to hear about it - but I know that this is real "stuff" and I thank people like Suzane who share their mediumship with the world and bring comfort to so many of us. Thank you for this book, Suzane! I'm about to start your other book "Second Chance". I love your writing style and hope to one day attend one of your classes. Brightest Blessings in Light, Love & Laughter,

Should be titled "Another book on The Other Side",
By A Customer
This review is from: Everything Happens for a Reason (Hardcover)
The title of this book was very catchy and something I thought would be comforting in a time when things went horrible for me. I'd say about 70-80% of this book is about seances and "DP" (Dead People). I do admit I like 20% of the book only b/c that's what the book should've focused on...the fact that things do happen for a reason, only I wished the author emphasized on that more than she did. Sometimes Northrop kinda makes it seem like life is a destiny and at other times, life is but a free will. It's confusing. But overall, what she probably meant to say was our free will was how we determine our fate/destiny.

Wonderful and Comforting,
By A Customer
This review is from: Everything Happens for a Reason (Hardcover)
After reading many books by several empowering authors such as Betty Eadie, John Edward, Sylvia Browne, and Tiffany Snow, that I am still reading, my life has opened up to me in such a compelling and wonderful way. This new book is well written, and thought provoking. There are great transforming authors, who shift the consciousness of humankind in a way never known before, and have the courage to reveal their paranormal experiences. "Everything Happens" is one of these.

How True!,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Everything Happens for a Reason (Hardcover)
Although most of us have heard the term "everything happens for a reason", and we've all probably said it to comfort ourselves and other's when we're faced with an issue for which there seems to be no answer, I think many of us fail to really UNDERSTAND this term. Like many other sayings, the reason why we've heard this term stated over and over again is because there is truth within it.
This book leads the reader to question the hidden reasons behind certain events in their lives. If there really is a reason, then what could it be? In order to find the answer to this question, one might need to dig deep within their soul - but the fact is that there IS a reason for EVERYTHING we go through - although we may not discover it for many years. The author's style of writing made this book an easy, and enjoyable read. Although it can be finished relatively quickly, its impact will last a lifetime.

The book that makes everything else make sense!,
This review is from: Everything Happens For A Reason (Kindle Edition)
"Everything Happens for a Reason" is the book that brought me to the understanding that absolutely NO experience occurs simply by chance or a coincidence. It was a book that came to me at a time when I needed to make sense of what was occurring in my life - and I have read it multiple times since then! The examples Suzane Northrop shares from her experiences professionally as a working medium, as well as the experiences of her clients, demonstrate that synchronicity, or meaningful "coincidence", is a very real phenomenon. Suzane's down-to-earth, humorous and compassionate style of writing helped me to wrap my head around the reasons why certain things were happening in my life in the way and time that they were. If you are looking for a greater understanding as to why certain jobs, relationships, or situations are occurring in your life . . . wanting to understand more about the soul, spirit, and free will (and how it all plays a part in your life now) . . . or simply looking for comfort and reassurance after the loss of a loved one, this book is a must-read. It truly helps everything else make sense. |
