About the Author

Laura D.A. Pazzaglia is a pressure cooker expert and founder of hippressurecooking.com, a website of pressure cooker recipes, reviews, and tips. More About the Author

Laura D.A. Pazzaglia is a pressure cooker and small appliance expert and founder of http://www.hippressurecooking.com a website of pressure cooker recipes, reviews and tips.

Pazzaglia believes that if you can boil it, steam it or braise it.. you can pressure cook it - and she has. She'll make a Tabasco sauce in the pressure cooker in a minute or a one pot meal with roast, potatoes and carrots in 20. Every recipe on the hip pressure cooking website includes step-by-step photographs and instructions for BOTH stove top and electric pressure cookers.

The upcoming "Hip Pressure Cooking" (St. Martin's Press, Fall 2014) is Pazzaglia's first cookbook. In it, she explains how ingredients react under pressure with easy-to-follow recipes with a minimum of prep. The book is filled with tips, techniques and detailed information that has never been shared before- a must-have reference for pressure cookery.

She worked with Adams Media to publish a book project "The Everything Healthy Pressure Cooker" in 2012. In it, she "healthyfies" the publisher's recipes by removing all packets, cans, and pouches and re-configures them to use only whole, fresh ingredients - she also added some reader favorites from her website.

Pazzaglia is a former IT Project Director in San Francisco Bay Area's Silicon Valley that now lives in Italy with her husband and two children. She moved from computer to kitchen technology when her first child was born and was looking for a way to make healthier meals in less time. She has lived in four countries (U.K, Italy, U.S.A, and Austria), speaks three languages (English, Italian and German) and is currently resides in Rome.

Her personal goal is to get everyone who is just cooking, pressure cooking.

Pazzaglia has contributed her pressure cooker recipes and photographs to pressure cooker manufacturers for use in promotional material and recipe booklets, magazines, newspapers and websites. She has made presentations and demonstrations, in Germany, Italy, Luxemburg, Canada and just completed a seven-city pressure cooker demo tour for three pressure cooker manufacturers in the U.S.

I'm a fan of Laura's website, so I thought I would give her cookbook a try. This book has become, not just my go-to pressure cooker book, but my go-to cookbook.

Thanks to this book, I use my pressure cooker a few times per week. (I don't cook every day.) My favorites are the Split Pea Soup (I add the optional ham), the Lentil Soup and the Winter Vegetable Medley. All three are swoon-worthy.

Every recipe has nutritional values. I'm on Weight Watchers, so I can easily calculate the points. Many recipes have tips, also.

At the back of the book, there is a section on different types of pressure cookers, plus a chart of pressure cooking times for many food items - legumes, meats, vegetables, fruits, and so on.

I love the book so much that I gave it as a gift to someone at work who has a pressure cooker. I gave a pressure cooker and this book as a Christmas gift to my sister.

If you own a pressure cooker, you can't go wrong with this book.

I decided to buy a digital pressure cooker in order to save on cooking time because my life became too busy. I wasn't sure how some of my dishes would turn out and I was concerned about whether dishes would be delicious and up to my usual cooking. With this cookbook, I didn't have to worry. Everything turns out so well and is truly at the level of gourmet cooking and extraordinarilly healthy also! My husband raves about each dish and is so very happy because he claims the food tastes better than eating out and his waistline is staying the same size because of the healthy emphasis on controlled fats and sugars! If you have a digital pressure cooker, and want to whittle down your waistline by eating delicious food, then this cookbook is for you!

There are a lot of recipies to choose from in this book. The information on pressure cookers was most helpful as a lot has changed since my pressure cooking days back in the 70's.

I have cooked a large number of the recipies since I got this book. All of the cook times for the vegetables and meats were exactly right. This added to the convenience of the cooker. You can just set it and forget it. Anyone with a pressure cooker would enjoy this easy to read book.

No problems with font sizes, or gaps, but this is definitely one cookbook I will also get in the paper edition....easier to flip through, compare, and locate.
Well done though, kudos to Ms. Pazzagliawho also has a great pressure cooker website, Hippressure.com....not a spelling error, there are two ps there.
Btw, this is the best one I've seen for both electric pots and for diverse, very interesting, and easy recipes.

This cookbook made me think differently about using the pressure cooker - it made me more creative. The recipes are great and at the same time, not overwhelming. I hope Ms Pazzaglia does more cookbooks

healthy simple recipes which are not difficult and the ingredients are too exotic so most things are right in the fridge!
