The Panoply Academy spent the better part of five years as central Indiana’s most challenging & compelling band. Going through a handful of members (and slight name changes), The Panoply Academy infected basements across the country over and over again as they begrudgingly drew comparisons to Pere Ubu, Sonic Youth, U.S. Maple, Brainiac and even Wire. 'Everything Here Was Built To Break' includes each and every one of the non-album tracks The Panoply Academy released during their career. Arguably even more important than all these songs finally collected together, 'Everything Here Was Built To Break' begins with the fabled "lost album" — five songs recorded during the Academy’s last session. Three of these have never been released, while the other two come from perhaps the last perfect 7" (Nocturnally Yours/Diurnally Yours). Recorded by LonPaul Ellrich (Marmoset), these songs finally capture the live energy that made the band a favorite for every young scrapper who was lucky enough to see them perform.

Trying to find some music that's cooler than any other that you could ever find? Then buy this cd, or any other by this group (Concentus is great, I'm sure they all are though - i've heard Rah! and What We Defend also). The singer(s) sound like dolphins at times, and the music is a well crafted and precise surprise around the corner of every measure. Schizophrenic rock gold - you must buy this cd if you love music.
