a pleasant suprise,

I listen to hundreds of blues CD's a year, and comment on very few of them. If you have come this far, and are interested in Aynsley's music, buy this CD. He writes some great blues/rock tunes and has a suprisingly mature sound. He also does a few covers - an amazing version of Little Wing that moves into a hidden acoustic track that smokes.

Absolutely fabulous!,

Aynsley has a unique and bold talent. He has a very talented ear, since he taught himself by listening to his Dad's old records. I was very impressed with this young lad's mature song style and attitude. Well worth the money!

Everything I Need, my review from Barcelona,
This review is from: Everything I Need (Audio CD)
A very good record of this thirty one year old musician that besides singing well plays the guitar wonderfully, in a style similar to Kenny Wayne Shepherd (who by the way has just published a great record, "10 Days Out"). Lister began to play guitar at eight and has now already an extended discography, but I think this record is the best of his production. It's not strictly a Blues album, you can notice it with the themes "Without u" and "In the beginning", the rest of the songs never go too far away from the "twelve time rhythm" performed in a personal way which gives him an artistic identity. The first track, which gives its name to the record, has a marvellous riff-rock; the catchy "Angel of mind", is a good theme similar to Tony Joe White's "As the crow Flies"; there are great Blues-Funky songs, "Soundman" and "I believe"; a superb slow Blues "Need her so bad"; the genial shuffle "Quiet boy"; and a competent solo electric version of Hendrix's classic "Little wing". This is really a record to enjoy. I recommend it.

Lister is a great guitar player no doubt. Some great chops on this album too! However he see tries to cover too many styles of music with this effort that you end up not sure what to think. Now, I favor blues music, but like rock or folky style stuff too. When you mix pop in there I start to wonder - it sure is more than everything I need. I hope he, with future releases, will continue to hone in on HIS style. I will continue listen for it. All this being said, I DO recommend this CD - 50% of the songs on here are really good.

One of the last year's best,

He's the light at the beginning of the tunnel. The tunnel of despair, marked by flickering lights of humor, hope, virtuosity and short-term escape is a big part of the trip one takes on the Midnight Special, the Hellbound Train, the Mystery Train, down where the Southern crosses the Dog ... the train of the blues. At the other end of the tunnel, well, that's where the sun is going to shine on my back door someday. In the meantime, I'll get solace from the humor, hope, virtuosity and short-term escape that exquisite players, singers and band leaders like Aynsley Lister provide.
This is one of the best electric blues releases to cross this critic's desktop in the last year. What else can I say?

Amazon Warning,
This review is from: Everything I Need (MP3 Download)
Do NOT order & try to download full albums from Amazon if you are or dial-up internet!!! WHEN you get disconnected you can't go back & resume download!!!
I was able to retry after asking Amazon but on the first retry of a single song (12mb) I was disconnected (I guess??). Now I guess I have to ask again. Alot of time to put in to just getting a $7.99 CD !!! Yes I'm living like an animal on dial-up in 2009!. That is another story, Can't get DSL from ATT even though they torn up my driveway to run fiber-optic lines. Oh and Aynsley Lister is a darn good player (from what I've heard so far).

I am very satisfied with Amazon.com for their customer service and getting my order to me in a timely manner. Keep up the good work. I listened to this CD on the Blues Brunch on Sunday and could not find him anywhere, when I went to Amazon.com, they had it. WOW.

stumbled upon this guy by accident and then listened to whole album on Spiral Frog (sorry Amazon)... Angel o' Mine is a superb track; 'I Believe' and 'Need her so bad' (slow blues) are excellent too. The others are OK.. good solid blues rock but nothing to knock your socks off. I'm not a big fan of covers (viz Little Wing) but it is decent for sure. Bottom line this guy is worth a listen.
