Yay!!
This is a great collection of Boothe's hits, spanning his WHOLE career, rather than focusing on just his 60's material alone.
Boothe had 2 great periods in his career, the mid 60's, where he was a dominant soul voice that beautifully fit in with rocksteady beats, and again in the early to mid 70's, after he hooked up with great pianist and vocalist Lloyd Chambers.
The listener can not go wrong with all 26 tracks that make up this collection- all are strong examples of Boothe's fiery, impassioned, soul stylings that made him a hit (which he still is) with audiences all over Jamaica.
With early gems like "Artibella," "Can't See You, " and "Lady With the Starlight" mixed in with powerful 70's staples "Freedom Street," "Why Baby Why," and "Everything I Own," this best of Boothe collection is just that- the BEST.
A superb addition to any rocksteady collection.

Essential Ken Boothe, April 21, 2003
This is a fantastic collection of Ken Boothe's greatest rocksteady tracks. Although most of his ska and reggae work appear on other albums and compilations, this is the one CD that best captures his soulful rocksteady vocals.
Highlights include "Say You", "Old Fashion Way", "Atibella", and of course "Everything I Own".
If you're a new Ken Boothe fan this is one of his best albums period. Collectors and purists will also like this CD for the excellent remixes of these classic songs.
I've actually bought this album more than once because (contrary to popular belief) CDs do wear out. It's that good.
