For along time i hated everything victory put out. Then they released darkest hour. That albumn kills! And now we have Dead To Fall. Simply put, This albumn will floor you. METAL! Scathing vocals, Deep death vox. It's all here. Amazing guitar work. Drums with enough energy to keep a small city lit. Melodic , And fast. What a perfect blend. Lots of comparisons to sweadish metal bands, No need to mention names. But i think this stands all by itself. I cant stop listening to it. So pick this one up...

This album is incredible. The perfect blending of hardcore, swedish melodic death and good ol U.S. death metal make "Everything I Touch Falls To Pieces" one of the most important albums in my collection. BUY THIS ALBUM if you are a fan of hardcore or death metal...period. Every song on this cd is solid with 0 filler. Dead To Fall is what the world of heavy music needs. Check this out!

Ok, Dead To Fall is nothing new or different, not particulary powerful, sonically crushing, agonizingly emotional, etc, etc, etc. They're the kind of 'metalcore' band that makes we wince a bit when I say that word. They've got the long-time-standard breakdowns, those "dun-dun-dadadada-dun-dun" mid-tempo, 4/4 time, open-E and double bass, Shadow's Fall without the groove, crappy breakdowns. Actually, that's probably my biggest gripe about this album... I've heard bands with no real discernable talent at all who can still pull off some decent breakdowns.
As for the rest, it's basically a mix of As I Lay Dying, a little thrashy late-90s death metal, and a bit of mid-years Enslaved-style melodic black metal, which is cool in theory, but very poorly executed. The occasional blast parts are luke-warm, and the crap drum production really doesn't help their cause at all. They're solid, yeah, but the songwriting has few peaks and valleys, so the album as a whole is a tedious listen with little that sticks in your head.

The best is yet to come,

I recorded the old "Stone Groove Studios" demos for Dead to Fall and I can tell you that some of their best material hasn't even been released yet. The song Redemption is AWESOME!! I was sad that it wasn't on this album. I know that they are shifting from hardcore more towards pure metal, but I hope they don't drop all of their old songs because they are great. The only disappointment I had with this CD was that the kick drum was all slap and no low end. But the performance was awesome! Also the tempo was a little slower at times then the way I had heard them before. Either way this band is AWESOME!!

Death Metal Is Alive And Well"Everything I Touch Falls To Pieces," the new cd release from Dead To Fall, is a lesson in hard core, head-banging death metal. Featuring the tracks "Words Ignored," "Like a Bullet", and "Graven Image", this disc should satisfy even the most sinister metal rocker. Bryan Lear and Seth Nichols provide power chords and catchy harmonics that are sure to chill your spine. Justin Jakimak on bass is likely to provide a head injury or two. Dan Craig delivers a precise rhythm usually found in automatic weapons and vocalist Jonathon Hunt, well......he sounds like Satan Himself. by Paul Martinowski

Underrated Melodic Metalcore Brilliance,

If there is one band that can execute the hardcore tinged melodeath subgenre well, it is Dead To Fall. True, it won't match up to the greats like At The Gates and Dark Tranquillity, but it's still a great listen. The breakdowns on this album are executed nicely, and the lead melodic guitars are done well. Vocal range is good. Not groundbreaking, but for those who despise clean singing, well, Dead To Fall doesn't use ANY clean vocals at all. Tracks like "Eternal Gates of Hell" show the bands semi-progressive nature, and "Memory" has a great bitter intro to it. If you want something melodic and will get your head banging to its beats, Dead To Fall's got the goods.

Simply the Best,

Dead to Fall's brutal, beautiful debut album is the greatest metalcore release I have ever heard. From the pulverizing fury of "Eternal Gates of Hell" to the placid acoustic tinklings of "Doraematu," this is an album that, from start to finish, yields a wise, stirring, resonant and cohesive musical experience (in an era of the excessive guitar noodling and indulgent production, a la Bleeding Through or Soilwork). It's hard to believe that the authors of this masterpiece are still in college!

I cant even remember how i stumbled upon dead to fall, but it was about a year ago and i kept looking for an album or ep but they're extremly hard to find so I had to wait for their first full length to come out, and man was it worth the wait.Dead to fall might come off as a hadcore sound but there are a lot more elements to them, such as death metal, speed metal and even black metal. The riffs are excellently executed, the vocals are deep and dark and the drums speed like a train. This album is definetly not for the light hearted. The breakdowns are absolutly killer, and in some cases break down the breakdown...stunning. You'd be hard pressed to find an album this rich in quality. My only gripe is that if you listen to the album straight through it becomes a little monotone at times, but the fact is that they never let up the pummeling terror that they produce, (with the exception of an acoustic track that has great playing on it). Never the less, If your a fan of heavy music in ALL generes, then this album is a sure bet.

This cd is really really intense. This is a great cd to mosh to.HaHa.Thats really the first thing you notice about it.However this cd has a surprisngly good melodic side to it also. The guitar break down at the end of "Graven Image" is SOO good its unbelievable. But the standout song on this cd is "Eternel Gates Of Hell".The Line "I payed my weight with silver and gold" has such a great drum beat to it and it makes u scream that line from the top of your lungs. The reason i didnt give it 5 stars is because that means that this is a flawless record wich it is definatly not.C'mon guys....People just throw around 5 stars whenever they think an album is pretty good.So dont be fooled by what everyone says about everything. My suggestion on everything before you buy it is to download 2 or 3 songs and see if you like it.

Potential,

Caught somewhere between Atreyu and Zao is Dead To Fall and while "Everything I Touch Falls To Pieces" isn't a bad album it certainly didn't blow me away either. And while this is a very average album in the metalcore genre, there is definetly potential. Unfortunetly what lacks mostly in this album is the vocals. Jonathan Hunt sounds like many of the Zao vocalists that we have heard in the past crossed with some death metal growls but he lacks in vocal range and it feels like his vocals almost dull the album. Musically, however, the album is pretty good. With songs like "Like A Bullet" and "Graven Image", the band does have a good start and a promising future as long as Hunt can improve his vocals.
