About the Author

Greg Jacobs is also the author of The Everything Kids' Baseball Book, 5th Edition. He has worked as a reporter/statistician for STATS, LLC's baseball division since 1997, keeping a detailed scorecard for nearly forty games each year. Mr. Jacobs lives and teaches at Woodberry Forest School in central Virginia, where he broadcasts the school's varsity baseball games on Internet audio.

I bought this book because my son loves baseball and I know nothing about it. I'm a single mom that wants to help in anyway I can but I was lost when explaining anything about baseball. I bought this book so I could learn and then talk about it with my 7 year old so it looked like I had a clue! ;) I have shocked many fathers' on my son's baseball team because I knew all about the history of baseball and could speak the lingo right along with them. Highly recommend this book for the parent or child that wants to learn everything you need to know about the all American sport!

Purchased this book for my nephew for his birthday. My decision to purchase was based on the reviews already posted on Amazon for this product. I was not disappointed. This book has loads of information as well as puzzles and quizzes. I am sure he will be entertained for hours with the information and activities.

I bought this little source of information for my grandchildren - everytime they have a little disagreement, they can go here for the right answer. I really liked the stats parts where they can find the most winniest team discussed, who hit the most home runs, which players had the highest batting/pitching average, etc. Also the history and development of the game is interesting for them...and for me. There's lots of good info here for everyone. Buy it if you love baseball. It's just unfortunate that you can't afford to take the kiddies out to the stadiums - too expensive...but then again we have some great games right here in our public parks.
