This book pays tribute to Little Golden Books of the past. Reading it and, most especially, seeing the full page illustrations was a trip down memory lane. Diane Muldrow has pulled together some of the best of the LGB library and added little bits of wisdom and humor in each page. If you remember these books from childhood you will bring back memories. If not, you will get a fresh, new look at what generations of readers have enjoyed. A lovely book for sharing and very reasonably priced.

I love this book. It's the perfect coffee table book or gift as EVERYONE can relate to the artwork and references to the collection of Little Golden Books. It's a delightful, witty read and makes the reader grin from ear to ear. Illustrations and comments are priceless!

I have given this book to many people that I care about. It reflects a positive philosophy of life. It reflects the life cycle and gives direction when things go wrong. Everyone to whom I have given it would like to survive when things inevitably go wrong. Everyone has "bumps in the road" during their lives. They remember the little Golden Books that they have read throughout their childhoods and would like to recapture the positive feelings that Golden Books evoke. I would recommend this book to those readers that would like to life with as positive an attitude as possible. JIBLL

This is a beautifully illustrated book that will bring back sweet memories of when life did not seem so complicated. The simple but practical bits of advice are taken from numerous Golden Books. If you grew up with these wonderful children’s books this volume will take you on a wonderful trip back to memory lane. The advice is simple and direct but that does not take away from the important life lessons it teaches you.
Some of the wonderful tips in this book include the following: “Get some exercise every day, Day dream, Star Gaze, Bird Watch, Make music a part of your life, Turn off the TV from time to time and crack open a book, Savor the seasons as they roll around, Dare to explore what’s out there for you” and many other great pieces of advice. The fantastic and colorful illustrations are worth the price of the book alone.
This is the kind of book for all ages and one that provides practical and meaningful advice that is easy to follow. This is also a volume that you will want to pass down to other children to 7 years old to 90 years old.

Lately, I've been building up my almost-five-year-old son's library of Little Golden Books. I had quite a collection when I was a child, but somewhere in the many moves of my childhood, my books were lost. Diane Muldrow's book could not have come out at a better time for me. I was thrilled to see that we already have the five LGBs featured in her foreword. I knew then that we were on the right track.
In Everything I Need to Know I Learned From a Little Golden Book, Diane Muldrow took illustrations from classic LGBs and linked them together with some basic and good advice for life. Some of the advice is obvious, but that makes it no less sound: For example "Don't forget to enjoy your wedding". I can't count the number of recent weddings that I've attended where the bride looked like she forgot to have fun. And "Let your children know you love them". Actually, I think that is the best advice in the book.
The artwork is phenomenal -- the best of the best in vintage Little Golden Book illustrations. I am happy to say that we own at least half of the books featured, and now I know which ones I need to replace.

Pretty darn clever little book if you grew up with all the Little Golden Books.
All those dear characters show up on the pages of this book to remind you how to live life: Be a hugger (Georgie Finds a Grampa) , Use your imagination (Nurse Nancy) , Have some pancakes (Duck and His Friends), Take a mental health day every now and then (Little Red Hen)
The pictures bring back memories and the captions are clever.

Growing up with a house full of Golden Books this book was a great walk down memory lane. These books are such a delight to read and this book was a fun reminder of the important things in life.
