This was a simple, easy to read book of love spells. It is definitely geared more towards less experienced witches, who may not have been practicing for long but still works for its simplicity. I was able to do several of the spells immediately because the ingredients were easy to put together and could be found around the house. I loved the author's description on how to work with crystals and in creating crystal grids. Some of this is pretty basic stuff but it does create a solid foundation for bringing more love and romance into your life. Very happy to have bought it!

If you are an A is A Aristotelian, this book is not for you. If you believe that there are unexplainable things beyond rationalization and that you can tap into hidden powers within, this book is for you. I found this book inspirational because it takes the attitude that you don't have to be a helpless victim of fate, but rather you can do something positive and empowering towards your happiness.

It's increasingly difficult to find magical reference books not published by the cultural hijackers Llewellyn Company, women with goofy made up pseudo-aboriginal feminist names like Ascarid Wolf Dung, or Aleister Crowley worshippers who've never so much as read his ravings. I'd hoped I'd beaten the odds with this well-priced 274 page spell book.

Wrong. This goddess laden bit of paper will endeavor to fill your head with "facts" such as the definition of "karma" as the theory of "what goes around comes around," which couldn't be further from the truth and even a cursory study of Buddhist and Hindu theology should dispell this new-agey nonsense that persists as common knowledge. Amusingly, this "fact" inset highlights multiple pages. Most of its many "facts" are quite simply incorrect.

Goddesses in and of themselves have come from the new-age co-opting of extinct Celtic practices. Anyone seen Ireland these days? Do these people strike you as goddess worshipping? C'mon. So Celtic Woman is a great musical act but do a little research - Irish and Scottish ancient practices have almost no relation to ancient Norse Asetru. Yet, because somebody said this was the way magic should be practiced, genuine aboriginal magico-religious practices have been murdered by chakras, tantric whatevers, goddesses, chanting silly rhyme and running around naked in the moonlight.

The main problem is, that magical practice equivalates to prayer, and the people who write books about "magick" are those who want to expunge any form of religion. Their hatred of Christian faith incessantly brings up the fact that the Catholic missionaries attampted to wipe out "innocent" indigenous tribes.
