5.0 out of 5 stars this one's a keeper
This is a great book because the recipes are creative, easy to prepare, and very flavorful. I had a dinner party using some of the recipes, and all of my friends went out and bought the book. We're groupies!

2.0 out of 5 stars Should be "some things" low carb
Some of the recipes in this book are keepers, but a lot of them make you wonder if they've really thought through the low-carb idea. For instance, there's a recipe for "Glazed Bananas." Bananas by themselves are off-limits for most low-carbers, but this recipe suggests adding honey to the mix. At 20 carbs per serving this treat is described as...

Nutritional reporting is minimal. No calorie counts are reported for recipes. Carb counts include fiber, and fiber is not reported on its own, so good luck figuring out net impact carbs.

Dana Carpender's 500 Low-Carb Recipes is a much better bet.

Most of the recipes are rated moderate and a lot of the serving sizes are ridiculous! 11 oz are supposed to feed 10 people??? many unacceptable items, too much flour and pineapple, too little nutrition info, and unclear info. I'm still not sure if the first recipe is 25 servings total or per ball, as it says to stick one in the freezer for unexpected guests!! Another recipe has 1/2 pound of chicken feeding 4. Very unreal.

If you're serious about low carb or want to try something different... this book is good. I'm not a hard core low carb cook so I don't go out of my way buying half of the ingredients being Atkin's brand or whatnot.
