Puts you to the test,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Everything and the Nothing (Paperback)
One can't read this book whole-heartedly and remain neutral. Meher Baba sums up misc. philosophical and esoteric debates in a few lines here & there, all from the perspective of his casually-declared Avatarhood/Christhood. Such claims take time to settle in (since their vehicle isn't "ideas"), or maybe they never do for some folks, but the humor, compassion, and wisdom is there nonetheless. (Particularly elegant or noteworthy are sections 1, 14, 38, 43, 50, 51, 54, 55...)

This review is from: The Everything and the Nothing (Paperback)
As the title says, this is unbelievably beautiful. No one else has ever written such succinct and to the point short comments on various aspects of life (especially the inner life) with such beauty. You can't know how wonderful this is until you read it!

Without even twisting Rumi's arm...,

Yep, without even twisting Rumi's or Hafiz's arm I bet they would so gladly admit, "If you think I am cooking -- checkout the Avatar, Meher Baba... and this book is a good place to start."
Daniel Ladinsky, author of I Heard God Laughing, Renderings of Hafiz, and author of three other best-selling poetry books. How did that ever happen? |
