It's a keeper!!,
By Sharon (the Jersey Shore) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Everything Pregnancy Fitness Book (Paperback)
This book offers guidance on pregnancy fitness in a straightforward and engaging way. As a huge fan of the gym, I was very impressed with the weight training advice. And I so wish that the comprehensive relaxation section was available to me with my previous pregnancies. The author did a great job making exercise - not the easiest thing to stay motivated about while getting bigger and bigger and more off-balance - something to look forward to. Now that I'm pregnant with my fourth child and think I know everything there is to know about being pregnant, it's a surprise to find out that I still have some stuff to learn. I highly recommend this book!

Ok for overview,
This review is from: The Everything Pregnancy Fitness Book (Paperback)
As a web-savvy pregnant woman who is concerned about preparing the muscles for easier delivery and faster recovery after pregnancy, I found this book to be somewhat disappointing in terms of finding information not readily available on the web. It is ok as an overview and contains some useful exercises, but does not specifically address my concerns as well as Maternal Fitness by Julie Tupler, which really goes into detail on the how and why of specific exercises. I would recommend buying that book over this one if you must have only one book. Otherwise The Everything Pregnancy Book is not bad for those also looking for general pregnancy fitness guidelines.

Great book, Great topic!,
By Mrs. Lind (Columbus, Ohio United States) - See all my reviews

This is THE best book on pregnancy fitness I have ever seen. If staying fit during your 9 months of pregnancy is important to you, this is the book you MUST have! The author obviously has a great grasp on this topic and has brought it to a level that we understand and won't need a dictionary to interpret. This would also make a super gift to a newly pregnant friend.

Really Nice Guide to Being Fit While Pregnant,
This review is from: The Everything Pregnancy Fitness Book (Paperback)
When my wife wfound out she was pregnant we needed a book to guide us to safe and effective workouts. This book was a great book for both of us with handy references in each month to show us which exercises worked best for that stage of pregnancy. My wife really liked the helpful tips on how to workout while not feeling well and I must say that the difference between the pregnancy where she exercised and the one where she didn't was truly amazing. This book is great for moms and dads alike.

OK but repetitive,
By SN "running chick" (Elk City, ID) - See all my reviews

This book is great about encouraging you to exercise during pregnancy. However, I think it's geared more for those that do not normally exercise. I was hoping to get more specific exercises out of it. There are a number of stretches and exercises, but if you are already athletic, you probably won't gain anything new from this book. I found it very repetitive. For example nearly the same paragraph for squats is printed in four places: the chapter on the first trimester, second trimester, third trimester, and leg exercises. When the book first arrived, I thought it would be great, but the information could have been covered in about 1/4 of the pages.

Helpful for the average person,

This book is helpful and has lots of good exercise info but being a woman who runs, weight trains and does yoga I already knew most information offered and was an unneccesary buy =(.

Not that great.,

I regret buying this book; I'm sure there's a better pregnancy exercise book out there. It didn't meet my expectations. Some of the recommendations on exercises broken down by trimester were useful; I wish there was more of that. After those sections, the chapters are broken down by activity which wasn't as helpful. Also, I was shocked that they put exercises to do with your baby; as in holding your baby and rolling him up and down like a barbell! How dangerous is that, at least a first-time parent like me would think so.
