In the 21st century, poetry is not the leading art form it once was. But reading David Whyte, or better still, listening to him reading his own poems, makes one wonder why. David Whyte's poetry is masterly, profound, and beautiful. The struggle to arrive at a deeper understanding of life informs every line of his work, and he is a wonderful companion on this journey we all share. David Whyte is an English-born poet now living in North America. He is a popular speaker in the corporate and other circuits, where he shares moving insights through poems. Discovering David Whyte has led me to a whole new appreciation and enthusiasm for poetry. "Everything is Waiting for You" is a good way to start - or you may want to select some of his audio CDs, like "Clear Mind, Wild Heart" or "Crossing the Unknown Sea".
