"A Feel Good After You Finish Reading It, novel.",
By Gwendolyn Gordon (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everything She Wants (Mass Market Paperback)
Angela Patrick Wynn created a character in Renea Peaks that every woman can identify with, and every man wants to meet. Her energy, enthusiasm, and determination, though flawed by inexperience, is contagious. I found myself rooting for her to make the right decisions when faced with challenge after challenge. When she made the wrong decisions I could empathize with her for trying so hard. The steady, handsome, A.J. was there for her and Brian every step of the way, even though he had his own demons to deal with. It was as if I was allowed to travel her jouney without her knowing I was there. That is the type of author I love to read. Other reviews have explained the storyline very well. I won't bother to go into it here. What I will say, is that when I finished reading it, I took it in both hands, held it to my heart, and sighed. Then, I raised it up to the heaven's and said: "YES!" You have to be there -- that means you have to read it for yourself.

Simply Spellbinding! A Love Story Par Exellence!,
This review is from: Everything She Wants (Mass Market Paperback)
Ms. Wynn's excellent debut novel shows us all the qualities we love in a main character. Renea Peaks does not let her youth intimidate her quest to get "Everything She Wants." While trying to finish college in California, Renea finds out her fourteen-year-old brother Brian has been arrested in Detroit for murder. She decides to leave California to help her brother out. Her big move to Detroit means she must upset her well-ordered life and start all over again. When she arrives in Detroit, she does the impossible. She finds a way to finish college, build her career, and take care of her brother, thus proving to herself and her family that she can do it all. In the process of accomplishing her almost impossible goal, she falls in love with A.J. (and so does the reader). Although A.J. is scarred by events in his past, he is the kind of man every woman dreams of, loving, kind, considerate, strong ... Ms. Wynn's plot makes the reader laugh, cry, and at times even put on some slow music and dance. Her characters will capture your heart and you simply will not be able to put the book down until the last scene unfolds, making you a better person for having read this inspiring novel.

A Very Rewarding Read!,
By Christina (Detroit, MI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everything She Wants (Mass Market Paperback)
Imagine a woman who struggles to have everything she wants: the support of family, a promising career and the love of a good man. Renea Peaks, the authors heroine, is a woman with fortitude and gumption who struggles with life changing obstacles while holding her own, determined to have "Everything She Wants". Ms. Wynn's debut effort is an exhilirating read that will vault you into Renea's world and hold you there until the novel's end.Ms. Wynn's plot is intricately written and builds upon the importance of commitments to family and to self. You will feel every emotion for Renea, whose goals for her life alter from minute to minute: she's on the road to completing college in California when she must journey to Detroit to support her younger brother, Brian. Her experiences in Detroit will have you crying with her and cheering for her as she tries to make the right choices that will effect her future. She is aided by A.J., a givng man whose charity and commitment are almost destroyed by earlier events. His confidence in himself and in his mentor are shaken temporarily, but you can't keep a good man down! While his guard is up when interacting with Renea initially, his heart slowly warms to Renea and what develops is a wonderful love story. Ms. Wynn successfully tells a wonderful story about relationships and the importance of never giving up on your dreams despite all odds.

Renae is determined to get everything she wants...,
By Luann M. Brennan (Farmington Hills, MI United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everything She Wants (Mass Market Paperback)
The good news is Renae Peaks is almost finished with school in LA and she is planning on going back to Ohio and take care of her 14 year old brother Brian. The bad news is, Brian is in a Detroit youth facility on murder charges. Renae rearranges all her plans to go to Detroit and help her brother, while finishing college at the same time. A woman who is determined to get everything she wants, Renae is not prepared for A.J., the handsome social worker assigned to Brian's case. He is everything a woman wants, but he is fighting his own demons when Renae crashes into his life and has him start second guessing himself all over again. As Renae juggles school and Brian, she struggles over her feelings for A.J. He is not what she needs right now, but she can't help herself as well. I found myself rooting for Renae and A.J. just as I rooted for Scarlet and Rhett. This is truly a modern story about love and family and what is important in life. The ending truly makes the reader feel good. I can't wait for the next Angela Patric Wynn novel.

Terrific enlightning story about choices and responsibilites,
This review is from: Everything She Wants (Mass Market Paperback)
ok now this is a wonder story...it was like a second skin to me..i was on renea's side until i saw that she didnt really care about her brother...she did dont get me wrong but she always wanted someone to guide her around when it came to her brother...but when she was doing her own thing...school and work..she was on top of everything...it doesnt go like that rather this is a work of fiction or a fact. its easy to say i would never do that but being a parent i know that i would give up my dreams for my son and family any day because it will still be there but not my family...this story really touch me and dont we all need an A.J. in our life *S* thank you ms wynn for writing an unforgetable novel *S*

Strong Black Woman,
By vanessa askew (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Everything She Wants (Mass Market Paperback)
Angela Patrick Wynn took the life of a single black woman and showed us all the ups and downs of what it takes to make it. Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. The fact that Renea was willing to change her plans to be there for her younger brother, showed her love and devotion to him. Once she made that decision, God put her in the path of people who could help her accomplish her goal. Angela Patrick Wynn, I thank you for sharing your story and I look forward to reading your next book.

Love This Book!,
This review is from: Everything She Wants (Mass Market Paperback)
This was a very good book. I pick it up not knowing what to expect, and I am glad that I did. The romance between Renea and A.J. was very touching. After the death of her older brother Renea tries to finish her college education so that she could be able to take care of not only herself but her fourteen year old brother. Renea tries to prove to her family that she is grown and will be there to support her younger brother during some difficult times. Then she meets A.J. A.J. has had some rough times and is not ready to truly open up to anyone because he thinks he will get hurt again. But the more he talks to Renea his walls around his heart comes down. And he falls for Renea hard. I love the story line and how the author brought everything together. The ending had you feeling good that everything worked out. Good job Mrs. Patrick-Wynn |
