5.0 out of 5 stars great roots June 9, 2005
Format:Audio CD
This is (as far as I know) the only US release by the slide-guitar wizard Peter Wells. Wells is fairly well known to audiences down under, as a member of the legendary Aussie rock band Rose Tattoo and solo, having been the opening act for everyone from Dylan to the Stray Cats. That said, this is a roots album in the style of the more upbeat Dylan, lots of slide (of course) and a blues band. The songs are consistently strong, and Wells gravelly voice works well. The first few tracks earn this the 5 star rating... its too bad this album didn't make more a splash on this side of the ocean.

5.0 out of 5 stars Underated Gem June 6, 2012
By Stigsta
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I used to listen to this album when I was young, driving the backroads with my brother in his Valiant. What a classic album and underated singer and guitar player Peter Wells was.
He pioneered in such Aussie bands as "Buffalo" and "Rose Tattoo."
But obviously out on his own as the front man, was really able to show his gritty singing talent as well as great guitar playing.
What a shame he passed away from cancer a few yaers ago.
If you enjoy great songs and great guitar playing, do yourselves a favour and check this out.
