Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com Review

Not to make you nervous, but the ACT is an important test. A good score can help make up for less-than-stellar high-school performance. It can also make the difference between getting into a top school and a middling school. So what can you do to prepare? Turn to Everything You Need to Score High on the ACT for help. A complete diagnostic exam helps you discover weaknesses to overcome during your preparation, and follows a thorough overview of the structure of the test, the scoring system, and even some advice on dealing with test anxiety. The next four parts of the book focus on the four sections of the ACT--English, math, reading, and science reasoning--and indicate what types of questions to expect, how to organize your time before and during the exam, and what grammar and math rules you'll need to know. The final section in this book contains three practice ACTs, all with full explanations of the correct answers. The book's clean layout and great summaries at the end of each section make it even more valuable. And with a Windows 95-compatible CD-ROM (included) to provide you with even more practice, Everything You Need to Score High on the ACT lives up to its name. --C.B. Delaney --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

3.0 out of 5 stars just about average, September 27, 1999

This was an o.k. book. It didn't help me very much, but it had good tests. They made a lot of mistakes, which could have been avoided. The writers probably didn't put their best into it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is WONDERFUL!!, January 29, 1999

This review is from: Everything You Need to Score High on the Act: 1999 (Serial) (Paperback)
This is the best book I've ever used to get higher scores on the ACT. It tells exactly what you need to know and study -- and nothing more. I was studying a lot more formula's then I needed to and I didn't realize it untill I got this book. I also wasn't taught a couple of formulas, needed for the math part of the ACT, untill I used this book. I highly suggest this book to anyone who wants to raise their scores.

1.0 out of 5 stars the answers do not correspond to the questions, June 4, 1999

on page 79, (English test) beginning with #22, the answer key is off. It gives the answer to 21 as D. and 22 is also D. How is this possible when the choices for 22 are F,G,H,J?
