I'll admit I don't connect with every lyric on this cd (like Photograph) but I do connect with most of the lyrics and the ones I don't I connect to with the music.

Alice Ripley IS the hope for popular music! She's in the same vain as Joni Mitchell, Jewel, or Carole King. She's a welcome relief from the pop-sapiness of Britney Spears.

She's refreshingly honest, simple, and beautiful. Whether you are fan of her performances on broadway which always brought the house down or you've never heard her before. This is a must buy!

If you are a fan of Alice Ripley's incredible Broadway performances in SIDE SHOW and SUNSET BLVD (to name a few), and have enjoyed her duet albums with Emily Skinner, don't expect this to be "more of the same." This album is a folk/pop album with an edge. It also highlights Alice's songwriting skills, since she writes the music and lyrics for each piece.

After my second listening of the album, I could not stop playing it. Her songs are bravely written and talk about familiar subjects in some not-so-familiar ways. From the opening love song SHOTGUN, through one of my favorites, CALLING ALL ANGELS, and the hardhitting SUBURBIA, where she speaks about how people love to hide themselves behind their white picket fences, you will be enthralled with the excellent calibre of music, lyrics, and thoughtfulness.

Even if you do not know Alice Ripley's music well, you will want to hear the rest of it after hearing this album. It's mellow and relaxing to listen to, and her voice is in tip-top shape.

Get it, listen to it, and enjoy it--you won't regret it.

Finally, one of Broadway's best has released her solo cd! EVERYTHING'S FINE is a wonderful mix of pop, rock, folk, and country music written and performed by Alice Ripley. Ms Ripley has expressed her feelings and memories of the past in beautifully written, creative lyrics. The songs range from the upbeat, catchy tunes.."New Kid" and "Calling All Angels" to moving ballads like..."Violet Tree", "Photograph", and "Drive". If you are a fan of Ms Ripleys or just enjoy unique, creative music, this is a must! I can't say enough about EVERYTHING'S FINE!!

This cd is the most unique cd I have ever heard. I have had it for almost 3 months now and rarely leaves my cd player. Alice is a talent in her own right. Her soultry, folksy voice is incredibly soothing. And she does justice to every rockin Soprano out there.
My Favorite songs have to be Suburbia and So Much of Me. Her songs have depth and meaning behind them. Each one tells a story of a life experience. I love how she speaks from the heart.
I had the privalage of seeing her perfom in Little Shop of Horrors this weekend, as well as meeting her. No only is she a wonderful live performer, song writer, and actress, but a sweet person...
I defintly recommend this albulm. It is like no other.

I've always had an appreciation of Alice's talent, and this album was both a surprise and a joy. It was such a treat to see her stretch her wings into pure pop, and she has the pipes and style to pull it off. Her song writing skills are also a new and exciting discovery. Go, Alice! And go buy this if you love pop music!

This CD is a outstanding piece of work!! I listen to this CD over and over again. It never gets old. I think that the reason is that the songs are easy to relate to, they are personal and concise. Alice has a voice tht is soothing yet strong, intimate yet revealing. Alice Ripley is a must have in everyones collection.

My heart lifts during Shotgun, I weep during She Keeps Her Love Away and Everything's Fine, and I laugh out loud during Suburbia. She writes beautiful music and the lyrics are clever, with her own distinct style, in the spirit of Carole King and the classic folk rock women, who have that peculiar insight into what makes us human that allows them to create a song to pull us just a little further than where we are and enables us to see farther outside ourselves and at the same time, deeper within, than we can on our own. Her voice itself is liquid glass-bright, clear and cannot be contained by neither height nor depth, Heaven or earth. Anyone with a heart will be moved by this CD.

I bought this CD as I have bought all of Alice's CD's. I enjoy her music and the lyrics in her songs. I can listen to these songs and they take me back through my own life. I see it as a reminiscent journey. I hope that this is the first of many for Alice's Band. I hope to see them in Ohio soon!!

Alice Ripley is simply Brilliant! Her songs are amazing they give you an incredible understand of what her life has been like and who she is! It was nice to see that she is not only a wonderful voice, fabulous performer, but a gifted writer as well!

If I could afford to give this CD to everyone I knew, I WOULD!

This CD is priceless with intimate songs written about her childhood up into her adult life. From her humorous "Suburbia" to the touching "Drive," Alice pulls at every emotion. And her live performance is just as great...Alice Ripley's voice is absolutely beautiful, and her lyrics just compliment it.
