Book Description

The adoption of evidence-based practice (EBP) has powerful ramifications for the future of psychotherapy. As the EBP movement spreads throughout healthcare, with its associated demands for demonstrable results, cost monitoring and accountability, mental health professionals are not in agreement on the best treatments and their bases or how to weight the factors that contribute to good outcomes. Evidence-Based Psychotherapy: Where Practice and Research Meet engages the voices of a broad range of clinical researchers, practitioners, educators, and public policy advocatesin a comprehensive discussion of the spectrum of issues and arguments in the current debate about EBP.

4.0 out of 5 stars Essays on EBP, May 13, 2009
This review is from: Evidence-Based Psychotherapy: Where Practice and Research Meet (Hardcover)
This is a great collection of essays for those who are unsure about the way EBP combines the use of research and clinical expertise. The brightest minds in the field discuss advantages and disadvantages of using evidence-based approaches in light of changing mental and medical health fields. I would recommend selected essays for any course on clinical intervention.
