Suspense at its best!, February 17, 2008
This review is from: Hard Evidence (Snow Canyon Ranch Trilogy #1) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #81) (Mass Market Paperback)
Janna McAllister is returning to Wyoming as a single mother. She intends to revamp the old cabins and take in lodgers. Not only is she dealing with being alone but her mother (who didn't take her "mothering" role seriously) is in need of her around the clock care. Janna does have a little luck when deputy sheriff Michael Robertson and his teen son move in. See human remains were found on the property and dark shadows are being seen after dark. Will Janna accidently draw the killer out from the woods?
Rustand does an outstanding job pulling this story together. The story is set in Snow Canyon Ranch abd is a 3-part series and I can't wait to read the next installment. The character development flows with the story as the suspense hits a high level. This is a must read for suspense lovers.

Chilling Story of Mystery and Romance, December 3, 2007
This review is from: Hard Evidence (Snow Canyon Ranch Trilogy #1) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #81) (Mass Market Paperback)
All Janna wanted was to make a life with her daughter after a divorce she never wanted. But she didn't figure on finding a body on the property she was turning into a resort, didn't figure on baby-sitting a mother who'd been anything but, nor did she envision the handsome sheriff and his needy son who brings a whole new set of problems. But when everything goes wrong, will Janna find what she's really searching for?
A chilling story of mystery and romance, with well-drawn characters, set in the breath-taking Wyoming Tetons. --Author's Choice Reviews [...]

Fast-paced mystery uniquely laced with romance, January 24, 2009
This review is from: Hard Evidence (Snow Canyon Ranch Trilogy #1) (Steeple Hill Love Inspired Suspense #81) (Mass Market Paperback)
Janna, a single mother, is trying to restore Snow Canyon Resort, but trouble seems to find her at every turn. She hasn't been there for a very long time, but is determined to make this work, despite the conflicts with her mother and the pressures of being a single mom in addition to all the problems of getting the cabins ready for guests. Stubborn as a mule, she is stressed to the max. Or so I thought. Then, as if it weren't enough, a body was found on her land!
Michael, a deputy sheriff and guest at the lodge, is the hero in this perfectly woven suspense novel, who tries to help Janna by investigating into it to try to figure out who is behind everything happening at the resort. And he has problems of his own with a troubled son. And to top it all off, hard as he tries, he's extremely attracted to Janna.
First in the Snow Canyon Ranch Series, I found I was hooked as soon as I opened the book with Roxanne Rustand's well-crafted story and characters. Janna is a loving and dedicated woman, whose problems many could relate to in one way or another.
With engaging conversation and believable characters, Hard Evidence is a page-turner that will have you saying "...just one more chapter and then I'll call it a night". You won't be able to put it down. You have to know what happens!
Rustand has a talent for hooking the reader and keeping their attention with her fast-paced mystery uniquely laced with romance and even some inspiration. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!
I give it 5 stars!
