This review is from: Evidence-based Interventions for Social Work in Health Care (Paperback)
This is perhaps the most evidence-based social work in health care text one could locate at this point in time and is groundbreaking in this regard. There is a two page introduction followed by a total of five chapters, as follows: Asthma in Childhood and Adolescence, Diabetes, Hypertension, Obesity, and Pediatric Cancer. Each chapter is followed by a Glossary and Scenario and Questions for Reflection and Discussion. There is a brief Afterword and a very informative Appendix. In fact, I'd advise reading the Appendix as a Foreward. This book is of interest primarily to those in the health care field, as the title reflects. Five stars would have been given had the book included more illnesses, for example a mental health condition, congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, adult chronic respiratory disease, a surgical disease and resultant amputation and so on. A very good text that provides clinically relevant, up-to-date information that just leaves me desiring more.
