I live on an island in the Pacific Northwest. The weather here is very like my birth place Eureka in Northern California. I write every day. I love to write; the stories unwind like a movie in my mind. The characters seem to have a life of their own after I name them. I choose names from football rosters and old newspapers and mix them up so they won't be "real" to anyone. I think my favorite character is Stumpy (Henry) Orchard, one of two people in the new book called Broken Angels. I am married and have two children. I also have dogs. I had an unusual childhood. I was a wild child with physical handicaps born to a Southern mother. She wanted to dress me in pink and have me play with paper dolls. I couldn't do that because I was busy climbing trees, jumping off of roofs and having adventures. Those stories of my childhood became Mama Tried to Raise a Lady.
