5.0 out of 5 stars Evil Untamed December 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The only author who can write short stories of this quality is Stephen King. They are brilliant and frightening. One shows
evil in everyday life that is so frustrating at the end that you can't stop thinking about it. The endings on the stories make
sense. Many short horror stories leave me with the feeling "what was that all about?"

Please do yourself a favor and buy this book. You won't be sorry. You will be scared.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Queen of Story-telling. December 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I love finding something new from Christine Dougherty. I always know that I'm going to love whatever she has come up with. I wasn't disappointed with this collection of short stories, each one brilliant in it's own right. There is no guessing the ending of each tale as Christine Dougherty puts so much originality and imagination into each story.

I would be hard pushed to decide on a favourite story. I found that they were all so different that they couldn't fairly be compared to one another. The story 'Hit' was slightly different to anything else I have ever read by Christine before. It wasn't her typical terrifying style but it was horrific all the same. It stirred up many emotions in me that I have never felt from reading a short story before. I loved 'Stephen King' but not being a King reader, I needed to do some research to 'get' the line that put the whole story into perspective. Once I understood the background, it became a killer tale. 'Kids Today' is also worthy of a mention, purely because I found it such a surreal story with such an original idea and a fantastic twist at the end.

In conclusion, another amazing collection from one of my favourite writers! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Too good to be true..... December 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I got this for my Kindle for free. After the first story, I decided that the person that wrote these stories, was being underpaid for sure. I thoroughly enjoyed reading them. They made me chuckle, they made me cry, I got so involved in some of them, I would jump out of my skin when someone would enter the room. The stories were written in such a way, you felt you were actally seeing what was happening.....EXCELLENT! I would recommend this book to all horror lovers out there!! Too bad I can only give it 5 stars...

4.0 out of 5 stars Some good stories, some not so good stories
Out of the eight stories in this book, I would only consider four of them to be actual horror. The other four were more mystery and/or suspense and didn't keep my interest as much. Read more

Good read...As someone who travels every week it's nice to completely finish a story in the time it takes to fly from one city to another.

Lame. Stories seemed to end abruptly. Might be good if I was 13 yrs old. More blizzard than horror tales.

4.0 out of 5 stars I love Kindle books.
So portable and always there if you have a minute to read. This set of stories are good, they do end abruptly and sometimes it is hard to decide what exactly happened.

Easy read with short stories. Each left me wanting to know more. Wish the endings were better. Still an enjoyable read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Short horror stories
The stories were good, but hard to believe. They could have been more real. They needed more details to help the stories.
