murderer,

if I was a murderer--and I'm not saying I AM one; a murderer that is--I think I'd blame this record if I got caught--and I'm not saying I WILL; get caught that is. But I'd say this just about makes the perfect soundtrack for the kind of killing I like.

Most Underrated Band Ever,

Oxbow is like throwing Ol' Dirty Bastard, Neurosis and Wesley Willis in a blender and watching it churn; which of course is great! This is their first record on Neurot records and it's relentless. At the end of the record they throw in a 30 minute jam to let you reflect on what you just experienced.

Wow! And a handful!...,

If you like bands like Jesus Lizard, Neurosis, Idiot Flesh, and other bands that play music in a similar vein, then you will probably really enjoy listening to this album. Lots of great, screwed up vocals, Albini-esque production, and a thumping/thwapping snare-drum sound that sounds occassionally like a string of firecrackers going off simultaneously. Great stuff, and highly recommended for connoisseurs of only the finest.

A strange, lonely walk...,

After searching high and low in my city of Canberra, Australia for an Oxbow album. ANY Oxbow album. I came across this and ran out of the store, clutching it tight. This album when played in a dark room, conjure images and feelings I can't go into for legal reasons. Furthermore, you will find yourself playing it over and over again. Eugene's voice from the first to last howl is as captivating as the next and the band work is as solid and locked down as a well-calculated warzone can be, I suppose. Not much else to do now but to buy it. Now.

Wonderfully demented & sick stuff but great music,

These guys should get a prize for sounding lyrically & sonically twisted & yet they are brilliant musicians. I especially like the 20 minute dronefest last track that sounds like Tony Conrad's "Live at the Dream Syndicate". Music to go Psychopathic to.
