This is the fourth Yazbek album I've purchased and it is a fulfilling as the previous ones. This guy is great!! He deserves more recognition. His music is quite eclectic with elements of jazz, rock, latin and more. It is harmonically sophisticated and clever lyrically. I hope he continues to compose and release music for a long time.

David Yazbek writes uncommonly well and performs even better. There is real joy to be had with his (ab)normal subject matter looked at through twisted fun-house mirrors. The various styles he uses sometimes is in conflict with the subjects themselves (a la Randy Newman), but this just enhances the listening experience. And his lyrics are smart, witty, clever and make you really think (or laugh) like no one today. (The lyrics for his Broadway shows are about as clever as they come. One stage reviewer even compared his lyric writing prowess to past Broadway greats like Cole Porter!). I fully agree -- and state that it is not limited to the Broadway work, but can be heard on his 4 pop albums.

People REALLY need to give this guy a listen.

I enjoyed this album. I did not have to buy it however. Anyway, you should buy it though.
