Joan Jett's Best,
By
This review is from: Evil Stig (Audio CD)
I've been a huge Joan Jett fan since "I love rock n roll." She's put out some great songs along with a lot of mediocre pop-rock. This one rises easily above her others, except for maybe the "I love rock and roll" album. "Last To Know," "Spear and Magic Helmet," "The Drinking Song," etc. Just a lot of good rockin' music. The weak track on here for me is Activity Girl. I loved the Pure and Simple CD but never got into Activity Girl. "Insecure" is a great track from that one. Anyways, if you like Joan's harder stuff, you'll love this Evil Stig.

If memory serves, this was really good,

I bought this album many years ago and I remember really liking it... especially "Last to Know" which is awesome. It's Joan fronting a band that lost their lead singer to a rape/murder. It sounds like Joan's better solo stuff.

One of Joan Jett's best,

A more raw, heavier Joan. More punk than we're used to hearing from her. An AWESOME cd that was made for an important, albeit very sad cause.

It's Gits karaoke fronted by the equivalent of Pat Benatar.
Joan Jett's a punk rock icon? Um, no. She peddled the same '80s radio hard rock as any of those other losers, no matter how "punk" Rolling Stone and middle aged New Wave fans have recontextualized The Runaways as. Viva Zapata. |
