5.0 out of 5 stars NOT like the first two..., October 3, 2001
By Michael Smith (Calgary, AB, Canada) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
this is more straight out thrashy death metal like The Haunted's debut than the melodic death of the first and even the second albums of Ebony Tears, though with "A Handful of Nothing" you could see the direction they were going. Personally i am more a fan of the Melodic Death scene than thrash, but this is a pleasant suprise! there's a few melodic moments, but don't buy it expecting an album like "Tortura Isomniae". All i can say is if you like The Forsaken or THe Haunted's Debut, this is similar and just as good! i won't say it's better than past releases, because it depends on taste. I also reccomend Ebony Tear's other 2 albums, "A Handful of Nothing" and "Tortura Isomniae". A great and suprisingly underrated band, even in the underground scene! (can't believe this is only the first review for this album!)

4.0 out of 5 stars Still damn good, July 27, 2004
By Scott Jenkins (Ottawa, Ontario Canada) - See all my reviews
This CD definatly isn't Ebony Tears best work. Myself and a lot of other Metal Heads I know think that Ebony Tear's old sound was much better then this newer sound. However if you do enjoy it, look (hard) for the Dog Faced God's album called 'Random Choas Theory'. Dog Faced Gods was an Ebony Tears side project which influenced them enough to change their Ebony Tears sound to this new style.
