4.0 out of 5 stars PURE.. SYMPATHY!
This is a much more brtual/melodic and streamlined P.S. This is album is in the likes of commercial succeses the Smashing Pumpkins if U can imagine them getting heavier and darker. Very original songs and alot of war chants and easy-listening melodies that are very heavy. Like an epic movie soundtrack. ENJOY!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Lightbringer and Futurepast are better albums.
The debut of Power Symphony has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
If I hadn't listened to "Lightbringer" before "Evillot," I probably wouldn't have given the band a second chance.

The debut of Power Symphony has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
If I hadn't listened to "Lightbringer" before "Evillot," I probably wouldn't have given the band a second chance.

It goes to show that they were a new group still looking for their music formula. At times, it reminds me of very early Fates Warning. But for the most part, the heavy metal portrayed here plain did not sit well with me. I don't know if it was because of the sub-par, almost raw production, or because of the lack of hooks or harmonies. I have no complaints about the female singer, but the music seemed thin in places.

The only thing that kept this album from being a 1 Star is that it wasn't the first PS album I listened to. I know that they've become a better group. Your best bet is to purchase their two superior releases: "Lightbringer" and "Futurepast." Again, don't pick "Evillot" as your first PS cd, as it will leave the wrong impression, and you will miss out on what the band has evolved into today.

i like this album, but there isn't many tracks on it. her voice is ... powerful and melodic. i like the idea of their lyrics, about swords and dante's inferno. the music is a bit of cetic/folklore and metal(which is the best part). i think they have the potential to be better, but nevertheless, the album is still good.

try it out, it'll give you a taste of italian metal.
