5.0 out of 5 stars and it only gets better, November 13, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Evils (Audio CD)
the garageDogs have just released their 3rd CD and I couldn't be happier! The Evils is a fantastic CD that demonstrates how the dogs have grown in their musical talents. There is a story being told here and if you listen closely you just might understand. With songs like "Whitney" about family issues and "Drugs" about smoking "too much" tosongs like "Fear" about, well, fear and "the evils", an amazing title track about pure rock 'n roll, there is never a dull moment. A little punky and a little blues, but all Rock 'n Roll. Check out the last track "Closer", it will blow you away.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rock and Roll is alive and well..., March 17, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Evils (Audio CD)
The garageDogs are one of those bands that cannot be easily labeled. Their first album was straight-ahead punk, but their second album pulled in country elements. On The Evils, they've managed to create a lush homage to rock and roll excess without distancing themselves from their punk roots. They've added instrumentation and layering, and, musically, they've never been better. However, the true power of The Evils is its stripped-down lyrical desperation. This album grabs the listener with a combination of poetry, violence, and melancholy that is seldom found in today's music. Check this album out.
