5.0 out of 5 stars Lively in depth look at unusual leader of Bolivia
Fun to read. Makes you feel you are with author trailing around with Morales. Shows changes that can be made with different leadership. Has depth and is written in a lively style. Highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Biased yet interesting book
This author of this book makes no effort to be objective in his "reporting" but rather just parrots Morales' and MAS' party line. In the book, the author makes all sorts of assertations and claims with no indication of the author's source for those claims. The author's sycophanting relationship with Morales unfortunately stopped him from investigating Morales' past and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Biased yet interesting book, December 8, 2010
This review is from: Evo Morales: The Extraordinary Rise of the First Indigenous President of Bolivia (Hardcover)
This author of this book makes no effort to be objective in his "reporting" but rather just parrots Morales' and MAS' party line. In the book, the author makes all sorts of assertations and claims with no indication of the author's source for those claims. The author's sycophanting relationship with Morales unfortunately stopped him from investigating Morales' past and views with more insight. However, the book, if taken as more of an authorized autobiography ghost written by the author, is an interesting insight on how Morales would like himself to be portrayed. A shabby journalistic effort though, at least by American journalistic standards.

This review is from: Evo Morales: The Extraordinary Rise of the First Indigenous President of Bolivia (Hardcover)
I read the book and realized that the author does not talk about Evos dark side it only delves on the positive side of his personality. What about his strong alliance with Hugo Chavez? A democratic president with close ties to a Dictator. He writes about an austere president that saves money on ice cream but what about the Evo Morales that bought a 40 million dollar private plane with government monies without following due procedure or respecting the government laws regarding the purchase of these type of Items?
