First of all, let me say that Evolution is one of my favorite songs. I love the mood, the lyrics, and the video. It's really a shame (and to me, a mystery) that she didn't put Evolution on her Best CD, seeing as how its one of her most praised songs.

That said, the remixes weren't on-par with some of the ones from other singles (such as Boys & Girls). Perhaps this is due to the fact that Evolution is hard to remix, but most of the remixes were rather simple. That is, there were no dramatic changes in the mood of the song. For example, the To Be (Bright Mix) from the Boys & Girls CD turns the sad song To Be into a light, happy little mix that makes for great background music to just about anything. On the contrary, in the Evolution single, a lot of the remixes (mostly the Oriental Hot Spa and Huge Terrestrial Birth, but to lesser extent in other songs also) lack any dramatic change from the original.

However, that's just for a few of the tracks. The two "outsider" remixes (End of the World and Surreal) are great and the Law is Q mix is everything I had hoped and more. I'm addicted to it already ^_^

So on the whole, if you're out to get a bang for your buck and expect to like every track of a CD, Evolution isn't for you. If, however, you want some great remixes with a famous single, I recommend Evolution.

when i first heard this song, i did not like very much. but, now it is 1 of my favorites on her new cd( i am..) the remixes on this cd single i did not like. so i would reccomend to just by the cd 'i am..'. yesasia.com has it at great price(^_^)

This is the greatest CD I own. Ayumi Hamasaki is an increadably tallented singer and songwriter, and I wish I had her other CD's too. I listen to this CD everyday. Though most of these songs are remixes, each one is a different tune, emotions and moods raging from hyper popular Japanese teen fashion to crying. She also adds a few other songs, though evolution remains my absolute favorite. I can listen to this CD all the way through and won't even be urged to skip a single song cuz I LOVE em all!

i fell in love with this song the first time i heard it. another increadible hit form Ayumi Hamasaki Goddess of J-pop! this song made it to the chrts in Japan actually Hamaski Ayumi is the artist with the most songs in the chart. this song is really good. a must have! i still cant believe how fast she sings in it
i think this maxi single is ALOT better than Hikaru's!....no offense (also a big Hikaru fan but still thinks that Ayu is #1!)

This is the first single that Ayu released in 21st century, and I love it!! Its fast rhythm attracks me the first time I heard it. What Ayu really touches my heart is the lyrics she writes. In "Evoluion", she said that we were facing a new era, and we would face happiness and sadness in this new time, and we should always remember this feeling. In my opinion every song has its special meaning and she keeps communicating with her fans through the lyrics she writes. I have to say this is a really amazing song!!
[p.s.] I don't understand Japanese, but if you buy Ayu's CD at our local record store here in Taiwan, you'll get a Chinese translation of every song's lyrics,and that's why I understand what the lyrics means.And sorry for my poor English grammar.

evolution happens to be my absolute favorite Ayumi song and though the remixes can be good it seems really strange to hear different versions of the same song over and over again. the only thing i would find really usefull for this cd is that you can find the version that you like the most and maybe burn that and others onto a cd. I probably wouldnt sit there and listen to this whole cd at once but maybe track by track.

However, considering the fact that evolution is a great song...i would definately buy it, it would be very hard to find all of these online and listen to them. I do think the price may be a little bit high and that if possible, it would be much better to purchase from Japan since it wont be considered 'authentic' and therfore it would be much less money. If you dont get the chance to go to japan then yes, you definately should buy this cd if you like Evolution

This is one of my favourite Ayu songs ever. The remixes are very good even if I don't have all of them. The best mix is by Dub's. (you know that floor 040 tranport mix). The video is fun and you must see the live version. It's so damm good,so go out and buy this wonderful single now. Ayu rocks ya(...).

Feels good to be the first to review from the east coast, meaning her music spans many countries, coast to coast, or boarder to boarder. She's very attractive, and a great singer. her voice is stunning, and very addicting in a sense that you just won't get enough of it. Granted, one or two remixes on this cd didn't shoot par, but were good overall. it's good that the original is on here too. that is by far my favorite song...EVER!!! this is the cd for you if you're an Ayu collector, or you love the song.

I didn't have access to a lot of Japanese Pop until I came to Singapore, but I like the style and am always looking for more. I first saw the Evolution video on the big screen outside the Orchard Road HMV. I rushed right in and bought the whole album ("I am...", not just the single). Evolution is definately the best song on the album, very polished and up beat. So up beat in fact that I can't understand any of the words without reading along. If you like J-Pop, this is the quintessential song.

WOW! This song, "Evolution" is one of the best songs i have ever herd and I am glad that amazon.com is finally carring some great music! A must have!
