A doctor a day keeps the apples away,
By
This review is from: The Evolution Diet: All-Natural and Allergy Free (Paperback)
Being a doctor, I'm inundated with requests from pharmaceutical companies to promote this or give away that and I constantly am influenced to keep the patients coming back (especially if they have a good insurance program). But I know that we don't have a health care system, we have a sick care system that aims at keeping people sick and thus dependent on the medical profession. It's a bittersweet emotion for me as a doctor that benefits from the system and also someone who has hypochondriac relatives.
That's why it's refreshing to read a perspective that opposes my "doctor a day keeps the apples away," mentality. Morse's Evolution Diet makes it clear how to live a natural and allergy-free life and keep the DOCTORS away. It's not easy for a lot of people-those on the inject McDonalds in mouth then take pill to alleviate symptoms from too much junk food diet--but it's worth it. Once you get on the natural diet (the way you were designed to eat), you will feel so good, you won't want to give it up even for something that used to taste good like French Fries. The latests edition here is chalk full of useful and entertaining info. I will recommend it to all of my patients as an alternative to the ubiquitous pharmaceutical.

I love this diet,
This review is from: The Evolution Diet: All-Natural and Allergy Free (Paperback)
I work with people to maximize their diets and I've worked with 100's of different eating plans, from Atkins to the Zone. I have to say, this is better than anything else on the market. This third edition includes great information about food intoleraces and allergies and provides a wealth of food options that fit within the "All-Natural and Allergy Free" life. The other content is there too, but if you have celiac, egg or nut allergies, dairy intolerances, this is the book for you. Some of my clients have said that it's a lifesaver.

Best healthy eating plan around,

I've been on this "diet" for over three years now and I can tell you that it's the best thing you can do for your body. You lose weight, have more energy and all the time your filling yourself (not starving). This allergy free edition is much more strict than previous versions and I won't take it all the way (I have to have my soy sauce), but 99% is so good and so doable!

Evolvution needed for (some) information and editting,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Evolution Diet: All-Natural and Allergy Free (Paperback)
I had written a review for this book a few days ago which hasn't yet been posted (hmmm). In that review I gave the book 4 stars, good info, shoddy editting. At that point I had read about a quarter of the book.
Now however I'm lowering my review to 3 stars, I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could. In addition to the poor writing and editting, shame on the editor, leaving me to make some assumptions as to what the author means to convey; there have been the humourous errors as well. Speaking of the "roll of fat" when he clearly meant the "role of fat" (the editor should read it, not just rely on spell check)...and no it wasn't a deliberate attempt at humour, as the author claims those attempts elsewhere in the book. In addition to the issues with the literary editting, the chemical composition and structures he includes in the book are incorrect as well. While this might only be noticed by one whose educational and career experience included time in a chemistry lab, the author/editor should get these right! While the book was published in 2009 the information regarding the role of dietary cholesterol, full fat dairy and eggs is "old school" and not what current/recent research has discovered...and this information was available prior to 2009. And finally to state that "the main factor preventing the majority of people from attaining perfect health isn't a lack of healthy food, or an overworked populace..." Well, if Mr. Morse isn't overworked I'm happy for him, however I suspect most of society would say they are overworked/overburdened with family and societal responsiblities. Underactive in a physical, excercise, movement sense? Probably yes; however, if one were to acquire additional information on the subject, some of which is readily available in other books on this site, you'd realize the burdens of modern society vs. "Primal Woman/Man's society". Though an avid reader I rarely review books, and when I do, until now, it is always after I've read the entire book....This time however I couldn't wait till I completed the book to write this review. Bottom line...Read this if you'd like, however don't make this book the only source of information regarding our "Natural Diet". Which books have I read and would recommend? Well, they include words such as "Primal" and "Paelo" in their title. Primal Body- Primal Mind is especially good if you want a more "technical" read. |
