One of the most obvious problems with christian theory is that god created us in our present form rather than us evolving. Our form has changed in the last century let alone last million years. People are taller is the easiest example. And I'm not suggesting we're taller just because our shelves are higher and we needed to reach them. We've changed as humans for whatever reason. Our present form wasn't our form a hundred years ago. So..at the very least.if god created life a million years ago..it has evolved into us. But I find the information provided is very biased in it's presentation.

Essentially the premise is "we can't find evidence that convinces us of evolution, so therefor evolution must be false."

EVEN IF evolution couldn't be proven scientifically...that doesn't mean that something with absolutely no evidence is a more logical option.

To take only one example, Werner debunks the idea of dinosaurs with feathers as imaginary, an artifact dreamed up by evolutionists keen to prove that birds evolved from reptiles. Unfortunately for Werner, evidence continues to accumulate that at least some dinosaurs did have feathers:

The realization that dinosaurs are closely related to birds raised the obvious possibility of feathered dinosaurs. Fossils of Archaeopteryx include well-preserved feathers, but it was not until the early 1990s that clearly nonavian dinosaur fossils were discovered with preserved feathers. Today there are more than twenty genera of dinosaurs with fossil feathers, nearly all of which are theropods. Most are from the Yixian formation in China. The fossil feathers of one specimen, Shuvuuia deserti, have even tested positive for beta-keratin, the main protein in bird feathers, in immunological tests.[1]

"Beta-Keratin Specific Immunological reactivity in Feather-like structures of the Cretaceous Alvarezsaurid, Shuvuuia deserti Journal of Experimental Zoology Part B (Mol Dev Evol) 285:146-157

Werner is after all, not a biologist or a paleontologist, so gross errors in someone well outside his field of expertise should surprise no one. He is a committed creationist, not a scientist, and it shows.

Statements in the bible should not be construed as correct science. For example, the bible states that the earth is immobile:
Psalm 93.1 The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. NIV

Ps 104.5 He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.

see also Joshua 10.13

Werner, whose acolytes boast of his supposed 30 years of "study" of evolution, churns out ignorant nonsense like this:

"If jawless fish are the evolutionary predecessors of other fish, one would expect them to be extinct, according to the idea of survival of the fittest."

That one sentence tells me that Werner either never bothered to actually learn anything about evolution during his 3 decades of study, or is actively involved in spreadinng disinformation about it, for 'survival of the fittest' would indicate no such thing.

What is worse is the fact that this book is targetted at people who will not know any better, and will swallow his nonsense without question. Such is the world of creationist 'scholarship.'

Only Evolutionist's back up that retardance of Apes evolving into Mens, cuz is not Real, and those evolutionist's are a bunch of retarded, liers, words twisting; Babbon's...

And, these people have been deceiveng you all out there by saying:

-That an 1 1/2 feet Ape like Ida that took over 43 millions of years to evolved in a 3 feet Ape like Lucy, further evolved into over 5,000 humans Ethnics races in less than 3..! Just by chiling around the World and, mating on steroids..!

-That people in Africa got black, cuz the Sun Radiation, when Africa is not even the hottest place in Earth., but the Equator..!
(So, Equatorian's should be beyond black, cuz you turn black with Sun Radiation! But, that is not the case..!)

-THAT THE SUMERIAN CULTURE WERE NOTHING, BUT MYTH'S. YET, ANYBODY CAN TAKE AN ONLINE TOUR IN THE BRITISH HISTORY MUSEUM AND SEE SUMERIANS ARTIFACTS OF ALL KIND'S...

-THAT THE WHEEL CAME OUT OF CHINA. WHEN IN THE BRITISH H.M, ANYONE CAN SEE THE SUMERIANS CHARIOTS WITH WHEELS...

-THAT HUMANS STARTED CRAFTING METALS IN THE NEOLITHIC PERIOD, WHEN THE SUMERIANS SWORDS AND POTERY, WERE CRAFTED OUT OF METALS. AND, THERE ARE UP TO 17,000 YEARS OLD SITES AROUND THE WORLD, THAT HAVE METAL'S EMBEDDED IN THEIR STONES BLOCKS, LIKE; TIWANAKU..!

-THAT THOUSANDS OF PYRAMIDS AROUND THE WORLD WERE BUILT BY CULTURES UNKNOWN TO EACH OTHER BY "MERE" COINCIDENCE. DESPITE HAVING TREMENDOUS "ODVIOUS," COMMON ANCESTRY...!!!

(AND, SUCH OTHER LOAD OF NONESENSE'S THAT ARE "JAW" DROPPING... AND, YOU ALL ARE LEAVING YOUR KIDS AT SCHOOLS ACROSS AMERICA, AND THE WORLD , UNDER THE CARE OF THESE RETARDED, "GOD" LESS BABOON'S, THAT ARE DECEIVING YOU ALL., AND, SMILING AT YOUR FACES...)

Dr. Carl Werner's book is colorful and easily read, but terribly biased and often shallow. If this were a truly objective book, then it would present the data and then let the reader form their own opinions.Several times he refers to several tenets of evolution as ridiculous, which reveals bias and certainly no legitimate science text should participate in. The reader should decide, not the author. Some of the basic science is accurately described, but much of the claims are simply his beliefs and offer no alternative scientific explanations. If evolution can't explain it, then it must be supernaturally created. He ignores volumes of scientific fact and focuses on a few that are debated by scientists themselves and boldly states that if scientists themselves are unsure, how could it be true. Thus evolution must be false. His agenda of creationism is blatantly obvious, but for the naive reader, sounds believeable.

Feathered dinosaurs are theoretical transitional forms required by the evolutionism worldview, which holds that birds have evolved from reptiles in the distant past. Throughout the years, there have been many excavations that claim to have discovered dinosaurs with feathers. While there is no evidence rejecting the idea that there could have been feathered dinosaurs, there is also no evidence proving, without doubt, that there were. There is evidence that in at least some cases these so-called feathered dinosaurs are really misidentified birds. Also, most of these fossils are from China, of which they are known to have a fake fossil industry. This places a question mark on all such finds. While some evolutionists believe that dinosaurs are ancestors to our modern day birds, there is no evidence to prove it, but all the evidence against it.

What this book fails to mention (importantly too) is that the known fossils presenting a transitional stage of a scale to a feather are ZERO!

This book is a waste of time and money. It is just another christian attempt to discredit the FACTS of evolution. Don't waste your time or effort on this bible-thumping crap.

This book comes with a deliberately misleading title, worthy of the finest purveyors of snake oil. It is very hard to believe that the title has been chosen in good faith, if you'll pardon the pun!

It has no place in scientific discussion, still less so in evolutionary biology. It is pseudo-scientific gobbledygook attempting to build a case for a dogma driven, literalistic interpretation of a creation myth.

If that's what you're after, then you can save yourself some money and go for the original upon which this is based, being the Book of Genesis. Unlike this book, you probably already have a copy or can obtain one for free.

If you have a short attention span, you can stick to chapters 1 and 2, the creation myth itself, and perhaps chapters 6 through 9, being the story of Noah's flood. Of course you will have to ignore vast amounts of scientific endeavour, as well as perform numerous logical somersaults. If you already have a creationist bias, like the author, this should not be a problem.

If on the other hand, you are genuinely interested in the subject this book purports to discuss I suggest you read a book by someone who IS an expert on evolution.

Creationism is idiocy of the highest order, there is no argument against evolution that holds water.
None of the arguments in the book stand up to scrutiny.
This book is a waste of paper and does not deserve space on anybody's bookshelf.
If I could give it MINUS 5, I would!

This book is uses science to tell one version of the story of evolution. But, it by no means gives current and accurate information that provides the entire story. In fact there are hundreds of "transitional fossils," of all kinds. (including early forms of bats) Science it not always right, nor does it always get it right. That is why, like this series says, it is constantly tested and refined. Transitional fossils are hard to find, and surely more will be found in the coming years. But, using something like a bat or whales or seals or sea lions, where it states hundreds of fossils have been found, but no transitional fossils is a little silly. I mean, hundreds? Really? There are hundreds of bats, whales, sea lions, etc. within a 5 mile radius around my house. I would think that finding such a small amount of fossils would be rather a conformation that there is a lot more that we don't know about this subject. If you really want to be informed about the subject of evolution, you are going to need to look a lot further than this book. If you don't actually want to know the whole truth, and just want to sate your questions with pseudo-science, well then this is the book for you! PS- It also didn't manage to mention explanation for all of these fossils that it doesn't dispute in the absence of evolution.
