This review is from: The Evolution of International Society: A Comparative Historical Analysis Reissue with a new introduction by Barry Buzan and Richard Little (Paperback)
Great history lesson of "empires" of the past and how they relate to hegemonic tendencies. Of course, 300+ years of rule couldn't be summed up in 300 pages, but the book has fairly poignant examples. It might be advised to read the Introduction and Conclusions first. It will allow the reader to understand the material better.
