top-notch from beginning to end,

I'll refrain from going through the playlist track by track. The unfortunate truth is that some Alvin Lee disciples will never accept anything called TYA that doesn't include Lee. Alvin Lee is great. I own all the old TYA. Lee's album ON THE ROAD TO FREEDOM is one of my all-time faves. However, only a prejudiced music nazi would dismiss this album. The songs, playing, and singing are all primo. If you are in any way a fan of guitar-based blues rock, pick up a copy of this or download it ASAP. If you listen with open ears and an open mind you will not be disappointed.

Age certainly hasn't slowed these guys down....don't listen to the retro nay sayers....JOE GOOCH is a better guitarist than ALVIN LEE...far more interesting...much less cliche based....not just speed ( and he is at least the equal of LEE ), but amazing tone...original phrases and energy to burn....forget the comparisions to earlier TYA releases.....this is brilliant BLUES / ROCK whoever is creating it....I'm not sure that using the TEN YEARS AFTER name has done this band any favours as the original fans will most likely reject this CD outright as ALVIN LEE isn't on it. Forget the name...if you are after some of the best ROCKING BLUES available today...buy this cd now...can't wait to get into more of this much improved bands new music

Oh, what a big surprise. But this is definitiv the best TYA studioalbum ever. Phantastic songwriting, powerful first class rocksongs and dream ballads with a splendid bluesbasis, four excellent musicans (Leo Lyons, Ric Lee, Chick Churchill - the original Woodstock Stars - together with the awful guitarslinger/Youngster Joe Gooch (nobody can beat him).
Thanks a lot guys, for this Super Bluesrocksongs in modern clothes. Well done!

cover band,
This review is from: Evolution (Audio CD)
sorry i tried to listen to this and it fell short of the "real" ten years after. this is a cover band led by a very good bar band guitarist named joe gooch. this is in no was the quality that the great alvin lee was doing .Spend your money on any TYA music with alvin as he wrote the songs, sang the songs was the voice of TYA, the star of TYA and this is NOT and never will be TYA. nice try boys, still raping alvin.
