5 Stars for Me,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Evolution of a Warrior: A Book of Personal Transformation (Paperback)
At the end of the 1st chapter, Tony puts a gun to his head and pulls the trigger. It was painful to read because that is how I felt at one time. Tony is angry, depressed, and just goes through the motions of living. The author could have been writing about my life. I suppose if you have never felt that way, this book is not for you. But for me it was one of the best books I ever read. Its central themes are simple enough - take responsibility and then take control of your life. After Tony learns how to bed down just about any woman he wants he learns that sexual exploits do not bring happiness. He then learns, the hard way, to deal with people from the heart. Even more importantly, he learns how to deal with himself from the heart. I almost didn't get this book because of some of the negative reviews. Thankfully, I took a chance. To read this book taught me that I am not alone in my struggle. It made me laugh at times, and at times it was painful to read because it reminded me of the pain I carry. It has given me hope and motivation. I even e-mailed the author with some questions and he gracefully replied. Being a modern day warrior is not about being a tough macho dude who always gets what he wants. Its about dealing with people from a place of power, but also compassion. If you don't share these beliefs the book is not for you.

The Evolution of a Warrior,
By RODGER WILLIAMS (WEST MEMPHIS, ARKANSAS USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Evolution of a Warrior: A Book of Personal Transformation (Paperback)
Wow! Just plain wow! I just finished this book at 4am after I began reading it yesterday morning. Evolution of a Warrior shook me out of a deep funk. After I put it down I got in bed but I was so energized by some of simple but powerful concepts that I could not fall asleep for over an hour. Some may be turned off by the warrior jargon but having a military background I enjoyed it. The way Regan breaks things down to the basics and then shows how you can build on those basics is powerful. I found it to be well written and very humorous. I plan to reread it this weekend.

sad piece of work,
By "monoluver" (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Evolution of a Warrior: A Book of Personal Transformation (Paperback)
I bought this book based on the reviews by other readers and I was sorry I did. I have lost faith in the reader's review system on Amazon. This book is a waste of ink and trees. I have to give this book a 1 star only because it's the least amount of stars that I must give. This is the author's first attempt at writing and it shows. The psychotherapist turned fiction writer tries that to cover everything from how to get over the fear of women to how to invest in the stock market. I guess the author was thinking that if all subjects that were men are interested in are covered, it should impress a reader enough to give the book 5 stars. The author's suggestion to visit a strip club to get over your fear of women is ludicrous. This practice will only want to view a woman from a distance and never get close enough to have real intimacy with a woman. Why don't we all save the trip to the strip club and lose our fear of women by watching porn at home. This is a very sad piece of work. I was going to resell my "book", but decided that I can't expose another human being to this work. I decided to trash it.

One of the Best Books Ive Ever Read,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Evolution of a Warrior: A Book of Personal Transformation (Paperback)
I'm one of those people who reads a book with a yellow marker to highlight key parts. By the time I was done reading this book, I had highlighted probably a hundred sentences! In addition to the mystery, sometimes outrageous humor, and down to earth sincerity, this book if filled with wonderful pieces of wisdom to live by that by itself could fill a small book. I think some other reviewers are over emphasizing the, shall we say, adult parts of the book. I found the core element of the story to be a profound statement to all of us who find life a struggle from time to time.

I bought this thinking that it will give me ideas on how to get women because that was the impression I got from some of the people who read this book. I was disappointed to find that it wasn't a guide to teach me how to get women, nor did it give me a "personal transformation."There was a lot of mysticism/occultism found through out the book which really turned me off because it used lots of metaphors. I'm the type of person who likes to read books that are down to earth and that gives practical advice. This book didn't deliver in either area because of it's "occultic" bent. Practical advice? Yeah right! There's an example in the book that teaches a guy named "Tony" how to stop being shy with beautiful women: Go to a topless bar or strip club. But what if a guy is too shy to step into one of those clubs in the first place? He may need a lot of support from friends, but that may not work. There was a better way for me to get over my shyness. It was to talk to average looking women and build my way up to beautiful women. And that's the key. You have to move slowly and build up from there. Before you know it you won't be as shy anymore, if at all. Overall I think it was a cool story. It made a couple of good points like when you start feeling sorry for yourself think about "death." No I'm not talking about suicide, but not taking your life for granted because there are people out there with bigger problems than yours. You'll have to read the book to know what I'm talking about :o)

Really Liked It,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Evolution of a Warrior: A Book of Personal Transformation (Paperback)
I really like this book. I found the story interesting as well as humorous. Its about a young guy who sees a therapist after getting divorced. The therapist turns out to be a bit of a nut who teaches his young patient everything from how to pick up girls to tips on playing the stock market. I found the parts of the book about `reading' peoples eye movements to learn how they think fascinating. I have to agree with another reviewer that this book is basically about getting in control of your life. If this is what you want for yourself, I recommend the book.

Thumbs Up,

I have read many self help books in the last 5 years and this book by far is the best I have read. After reading it, I began to make dramatic changes in my life. It surprises me that some people don't like it. I've noticed with this and some other personal development books how people can love or hate the same book. Funny how that works but I guess it depends on what a person is looking for.

I am not much of a reader except for technical lecture, but "the evolution of a warrior" I read in no time.It is a great entertaining book with much of humor, excitement and self help. It could even be a realy good support in finding a relation and make it work. However it gave me even an amount of strenght in daily live. I am looking forward to what Regan is going to write.

I bought this book on a whim. ...and boy am I glad I did. This is a great book that I enjoyed very much. It flows well and the characters are interesting. For a guy like me who has trouble being assertive, especially with girls, this book is a Godsend. True, there are other books with similar themes (like being a warrior, how to get girls, etc) but Regan's sense of humor and unique style make this book one of a kind in the self-help section.

This review is from: The Evolution of a Warrior: A Book of Personal Transformation (Paperback)
Not ever having much luck with girls I bought this book after I found out it teaches you how to seduce women. Wow! I got more than I bargained for. There is a whole life philosophy in the story that teaches you how to stop taking @#$% in your life and gain control! Some parts are funny as hell and I really found myself relating to the author. This book turned my life around!
