Out of print in the U.S.! Limited digitally remastered two CD digipak edition of the Metal band's 2003 album pressed on gold discs. Pissing Razors originally formed in the late '80s. They are musically comparable to local heroes Pantera, plus Skinlab and Machine Head; in other words, angst-filled, shouted vocals are merged with meaty guitar riffs for a sound that's custom-made for the mosh pit. Evolution was the band's sixth full-length album. The album's title suggests the change in musical direction as Pissing Razors were experimenting with a few new styles. Metal Mind. 2009.

This album sucks. I'm only giving it more than 1 star because this band (believe it or not) is related to the same band that came out with the awesome Fields of Disbelief album.

The vocals on this album suck. The vocalist's attempt at sounding like a harcore badass doesn't work; it's not even close to the vocal work of the band's first vocalist Joe Rodriguez. Even this guy's singing voice, which is barely distinguishable from his yelling, isn't good (as if Pissing Razors should have lots of singing anyway.)

Secondly, a lot of the guitar work isn't interesting. Hanging on the Cross, for instance, has the most uninteresting chorus riff ever.

Thirdly, the drumming isn't like it was on earlier albums, which had more interesting rhythms and complexity (more double bass.)

Fourthly, there are only 10 songs on this as opposed to the 13 or 14 that were on their good albums (and two songs are identical bar one having spanish vocals.)

Lastly, the music is slowed down from previous albums, as if the whole band turned 80 years old and somehow convinced themselves that what they recorded was fast-paced, stimulating music.

It's obvious the band put no time into this album at all, and for that I am ashamed of Pissing Razors, a band that obviously had talent before they nixed Joe Rodriguez and a couple worthy guitarists.

This album is at best an awful attempt to better their original sound and at worst is a total insult to their better albums. Do yourself a couple favors: get the album Fields of Disbelief instead of this and ask this band why they decided to start sucking.

Just when you thought that you had found a band that you could rely on, they suddenly lose what you loved so much about them. I am a solid metal fan: love the old school 80ties thrash (old metallica, megadeth, corrosion of conformity, slayer) and 90ties crunch (pantera, sepultura, orange goblin, electric wizard, cathedral, carcass); I even love some of the black and death metal stuff (opeth, cradle, gandalf, typeOnegative).

Then New Metal became popular and strong with many bands and a sound that I was not able to enjoy or find any integrity in. But in 98 I heard songs from Pissing Razors self titled debut album before it was released and thought "oh good, a band with the things I really like about strong solid metal." Sure enough the album is great. Then they followed up with other albums that all differed in their level of song craftmanship. Yet the constant was their unmistakable sound. Yes it is influenced by Pantera, Fear Factory and Sepultura but that detracts nothing from their own integrity and the great sound they had.... yes had, because this album seems to have lost focus and "Tool"esque riffs and song twist have krept their way into their songs. Such a pity. Their music never really changed my world but I did think that I could rely on them for a head bashing set of songs to rock out to. This mistakenly made album or heaven forbid new direction just lost me as a fan.

Oh well, at least I've got 4 albums of theirs to keep me happy.

My review for this album is not based on the quality and/or content of the music, but rather on the content of the actual received album vs the 'product description' which is shown on the amazon product description for this item (shown below). When I read a product description on amazon, I expect the item I receive to match the product description EXACTLY with no deviations. The album I received does not meet this product description. I received a single cd version of the album on non-gold cd rather than the 2 gold cd version as advertised. I feel that I've been ripped-off again so I've added this product review in the event that it may help others from being taken for a sucker like I recently was (again) on this purchase...buyer beware, false advertisement!!_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
