Rock-climbing just got a whole lot easier. This high-performance shoe is loaded up with great features to help you during climbs. The synthetic upper is perforated for breathability and non-stretch with stiff edging for a consistent fit. Additional rubber at the toe helps with hooking while a narrow heel shape cuts down on volume. With this laced on, you only need to look up and worry about your climb, not your shoe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great shoe for me, October 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Evolv Men's Pontas Lace Climbing Shoe (Apparel)
I've been climbing for almost 35 years, and have been through a lot of shoes. I won a certificate for a pair of shoes from Evolv at an event raffle, Evolv has been a good supporter of any number of events. It took several tries to dial in the right size for me, turned out to be a full size larger than what I wear from 5.10. Once I got the size right, I couldn't be happier. I tend to climb mostly vertical rather than overhanging terrain, and my home crag is a sandstone cliff with technical face climbing, and these are currently my favorite shoe for this crag. They edge and smear well, and were very precise for a little nubbin tugging down at Smith Rock as well (again, vertical, not overhanging routes). Bear in mind we're talking middling 5.11, nothing considered "hard" in modern nomenclature. It feels like they've really helped with redpointing a few projects of mine, though that might be partly due to the fact its the end of the season, not the start. Anyway, I liked them enough to seek out another pair on sale, even though the current set are still in great shape. I just hate it when companies discontinue a shoe I love (Hey, 5.10, I'm talking about the old burgundy Hueco)

5.0 out of 5 stars good as adviced, June 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
A friend adviced me these climbing shoes saying they were the best ones for my climbing style/needs. He was right, the are simply excelent.

Warning: be careful with the size, they tend to be smaller than for regular shoes. I mean, if in walking shoes you use 9, a 9 in evolve is going to be a little tight. I advice to first try the size you are going to buy.

This review is from: Evolv Men's Pontas Lace Climbing Shoe (Apparel)
I've worn the Pontas Lace for almost a year now and they've climed with me through Connecticut, Southwest Utah, and all over the gym. Hands down the best climbing shoe I've ever worn. The Edging is excellent, the heel is excellent, and they're comfortable. Being lace up they give room for comfort or you can tighten down and get that precision fit you expect out of a high performance shoe. As long as this shoe is around it will be in my quiver.
