I have been climbing for about six months (currently in the 5.10 range), and I couldn't be happier with these shoes.

Right now it does hurt my toes and I'm hoping it stretches a little bit but if doesn't that's fine with me.

We climb once or twice a week, and she wears them without any problems every time.

I first starting climbing indoors last November and am now working on 5.11's. The Rockstars were definitely an upgrade from the crappy rental shoes, partly because I didn't know any better back then. However, after a couple months of climbing regularly (3x a week), some faults began to emerge:

1.) The Rockstars STRETCH LIKE CRAZY. I wear 7 in street shoes and after reading reviews ordered the Rockstars in 7.5 and 8. I was sorely tempted to keep the 8's because they were initially more comfortable, but the gym staff convinced me to keep the smaller size even though they cramped my toes.

I now regret not purchasing them in 7 (or even 6.5), as I've had to resort to wearing (*gasp*) socks with the 7.5's to fill the gaps. I can't tell you how many times I've felt like the shoes were about to slip off during a heel hook, or how precarious some of my edging has been because there was so much room in the toe box.

So for those of you hesitant about sizing: SIZE DOWN. Yes, it'll hurt initially, but you'll be happier later as you progress and climb harder.

2.) The Ecotrax rubber is not sticky compared to the Vibram rubber found on La Sportivas/Scarpas or even the C4/Stealth on the 5.10's. Smearing is a pain; I basically just slip off the smooth gym walls.

3.) Evolvs stink. Seriously, I've resorted to sticking dryer sheets in mine to defuse the odor. I think it's because these shoes are synthetic.

Verdict: I'm sad that I can't use them now, even for warm-ups, laps, or generally easy climbs because they've stretched out so much. I think these are decent beginner shoes as long as they are fitted correctly, but expect to outgrow them very quickly. Perhaps consider purchasing La Sportiva's Nagos or Mythos as more versatile, long-lasting shoes.

FYI, I'm currently wearing La Sportiva Miuras (women's lace-up version, in size 36.5) and love the aggressive, tight fit and the stickier rubber.

This is my first pair of climbing shoes. Initially, I had some difficulty finding the right size with this shoe. My shoe size tend to be a 7 1/2 to an 8 and when I was still renting climbing shoes (when I was just starting out with rock climbing) I generally wore a 7 1/2. Therefore, I thought that this would be the right size for me in this shoe. Wrong! The 7 1/2 was way too tight and I had to return them and order a size up. Even the 8 is pretty snug for me, but I'd rather the shoe be a bit too tight than too loose. Otherwise, they are great; my feet feel sturdy on much smaller holds than previously. Just be warned, they tend to run a bit small. Only time will tell if they start to stretch out, but after several wears they haven't stretch too much.

I've only been climbing for a few months and I noticed an immediate difference in my technique when I started wearing these shoes. I've had them for about 2 months now and although I wish they'd stretch out a little more the edge on them is unbeatable.

I have been climbing for about 2 years now and had a lot of trouble finding a comfortable trad shoe that fit my low volume feet and narrow heels. I bought these shoes in my street shoe size as they don't stretch at all (which has been my experience with Evolv shoes in general). Unlike my Elektras, the Rockstar's have a much more durable sole and after 5 or 6 climbing trips (from cold weather to hot and humid southern weather) on hard climbs(5.10-5.11), lots of gym climbing, and bouldering, they are holding up great. They edge very well and have been fine for heel hooking. Also, they are comfortable for multi-pitch, longer day wear. I'm impressed with these shoes and definitely recommend them for beginners to advanced climbers.

I have been climbing for about six months (currently in the 5.10 range), and I couldn't be happier with these shoes. Initially they seem pretty tight, but I love how form-fitted to my feet they've become. They take a little bit to get used to, so make sure you're okay with that going in. I climb about twice a week (not enough to warrant getting super expensive shoes) and these shoes do exactly what I need them to do.

I bought the Evolv Rockstars after my old pair of Boreals wore out and I'm quite pleased with the way they fit. The sizing is pretty true to my street shoe size and even though I've only worn them for 3 climbing sessions so far, the "omg my feet are super unhappy" feeling is already starting to go away. The shoes lace up quickly and easily and I love the pink on them. Overall, I am very happy with these shoes.

I purchased these shoes for my 11 year old daughter. Her climbing instantly improved with these shoes, due to her size, she has to use the wall a lot where no holds are available to her, these stick really well.

Unfortunately, after only 7 weeks, they wore through on the toe. I sent them back to evolv who resoled them under warranty. I was impressed by their customer service.

I ordered these as my first pair of climbing shoes. So far they are fine. They are a little small than what I anticipated (I usually wear an 8 and I'm thinking I should have ordered the 8.5) BUT it's not worth it dealing with the horrible customer service this company has. Additionally, the shoes I got do not have the "rockstar" label on them and they came a little bit dirty. (as though they sent me the in house try-ons). That didn't make me happy but, like I said, dealing with the sellers customer service is not worth the hassle. Also, the laces they came with are black not pink. so you get 80% of what is pictured.

They fit, they will do the job, and they are comfortable.

Side note, as far as the seller:
When I first ordered, I had an issue in regards to the shipping. I tried emailing them and got back a "we're sorry you aren't happy but suck it up" type of response (not in those word exactly but equally as snide). I then tried calling them. It took 2 hours to get anyone who could help me on the phone (I even got hung up on once). I ended up being spoken to by the same guy who had emailed me earlier. This guy was so smug. At any rate, they did eventually fix my issue but buyer beware, if you need anything from this company, they are horrible.
