I have been battling cat vomit for the last couple of years. I have tried many foods (Iams, Newman's Own, HALO Spot, etc.). My cats would either not eat it or would vomit several times a week.

This stuff is amazing. My cats are not only NOT vomiting, but they are eating less, drinking less and are much happier and more energetic.

Before this food, one of my cats had chronic diarrhea. Since they started eating this (3 weeks ago), his stool has firmed up to some extent (not where I'd like it, but better).

I found myself in a long period of unemployment and had to try to reduce expenses. I'd been feeding my cats premium cat foods but decided this was an area I could possibly reduce expenses but still feed a good quality cat food. After doing extensive research online, I decided to give Evolve Maintenance Formula with Chicken Dry Cat Food a try. I've been extremely pleased and the cats took to it immediately. One thing I've noticed after two months of feeding Evolve is that their coats are extremely shiney and soft, something the costlier cat foods had not produced. I haven't noticed the side effects of soft stool that other's have mentioned. I'm pleased with the results and would recommend Evolve based on high quality at a reasonable cost.

My female cat, Mistique, was having problems with blood in her stool. I tried adding canned food to her diet, which helped, but didn't solve the problem completely and was expensive and making her fat to give it to her everyday. I did some research on the internet before giving in and taking her to the vet and found out that this can be caused by harsh grains like corn in the pet food. I switched her and my other cat to this food and the problem went a way. Both of my cats are more energetic now and their fur is super soft. My male cat is more behaved, probably due to having steady protein in his system rather than corn which turns to sugar giving him a sugar hi. Also my cats used to go for the dog's food because it smelled better and we had a hard time keeping them out of it. Now my cats snub the dog food and enjoy only their cat food. I love the price compared to most natural cat foods it's a real good deal.
A note about switching pet food: don't expect your cat to immediately go for the new food without transitioning. You have to slowly introduce the new food mixed with the old. Reduce the amount of old food each week until there is nothing left but the new food.

Update: My cats have been on the new food for 2 months and have stopped having hairballs completely. They continue to have very good health from it.

Update: My cats have been on this food for 8 months now. One of the perks has been needing less cat litter. Because there's less junk in their food there's less waste and less scooping. 1 large box of cat litter now lasts me a month for both cats.

My cat avoids *healthy* premium cat foods and loves the cheap stuff like Friskies but not wanting to feed that to her I have wasted lots of money on cat food. Not anymore. She loves Evolve. It doesn't help with the vomiting due to furballs but that is okay because here is what I do: I heat some coconut oil and mix it with this food and the vomiting is now a thing of the past. Happy cat.

All I can say about this cat food is that it is worth the money! MY cat has been getting diarrhea from other cat food brands that had chicken by product and other stuff in it. I'm not sure exactly what was causing him to have diarrhea but since we switched to this food he has not had any diarrhea and I don't have to worry about a blown up litter box!! My cat loves this food and he is a very picky eater.

We got 3 kittens two years ago from the same rescue place. I was feeding them IAMS kitten food until they were one year old, and then switched to EVOLVE when my daughter found this at Walmart, she noticed "No wheat, corn or soy". It cost the same as IAMS, but IAMS is not what it used to be and has added not-so-healthy ingredients. Since we became aware of the GMO issue with wheat, corn and soy, we don't want to eat those foods ourselves, therefore we don't want to feed it to the cats. Regardless of the GMO issue, cats have never consumed wheat, corn or soy of their own natural choice, although they eat it mixed in with commercial cat food. These ingredients are linked to allergies, skin diseases, blood sugar issues and other problems with cats and dogs. [Search online regarding this] Therefore, if you want your pets to be healthy and want to avoid expensive vet bills, EVOLVE or another cat food that does not contain wheat, corn or soy, is a logical good choice. All three of our cats love EVOLVE and since they eat more of this compared to IAMS they are now eating less canned food, which they used to prefer over the IAMS dry food. They are not experiencing any diarrhea, although for those cats having loose stools, activated charcoal can be added to their food and presto the diarrhea stops. We have always used charcoal to stop diarrhea for ourselves, and our pets. It is perfectly safe and simply absorbs the toxins in the intestines that are causing the diarrhea...and charcoal has no flavor to deter them from eating their food. I have also found with our pets that probiotics are needed to enable their intestines to digest food, just like with humans. We have given all three of our cats probiotics and they have never had diarrhea or constipation in the past 2 years since we adopted them.

I've tried a few high quality cat food products and this one is right up there with Innova/EVO brand, but even cheaper in price.

One of my cats has had urinary tract issues in the past. The Vet stated possible Struvite crystal problems which some lower quality foods, especially ones that use soy products, etc as protein fillers instead of animal protein(many variables in the low quality causes an offset of PH balance in their urine; Cat urine is generally more on the acidic side than alkaline) plus not enough water intake can cause urinary issues.

Besides some few and far between accidents in the past 6 months, this product has delivered. It seems to agree with my cat's needs and has stopped her UTI's.

My one complaint is how it tends to give my cats(I have two cats) almost diarrhea consistency excrement. It's not quite there, but definitely looser and sticky. Once in awhile it gets stuck in the hair, therefore making them drag their bums on the ground. It's not for lack of water consumption, as we do give them wet food also. They also have a great water thirst reflex(one even has a running water fetish!). However, we've had to cut back on that as with the combination of the wet food and this food, the stools get even more loose.

My educated guess is the high nutrients with their consumption doesn't get fully absorbed, or maybe the high fat content. I can't say for certain, but it does it to both of my cats.

In conclusion, with how healthy my cats are currently, I'm willing to put up with this minor irritation. I just stay nearby with a wet cloth and some spot shot in hand, *laughs*.

I have three cats and have started feeding them Evolve about 2 years ago, no problem with them eating the food. I recently bought a 15 lb. sack at a cost of almost $20.00. Poured the food out into three bowls and neither three cats would eat the food, they smelled it and walked away. I knew something was wrong with the food so I called Sunshine Mills and talked with a rep. she told me "maybe they forgot to spray the food before they packaged it". I don't know what she meant by "spraying the food ". She told me to cut the expiration date, etc. from the package and send it to Sunshine Mills and they would send me a refund. I sent the information and never heard a word from them, sent a SECOND letter and no response. I spent almost $20.00 for NOTHING, so as a result I have not and will not purchase the Evolve brand again, instead f buy cat food at PetSmart which cost more than Evolve but at least if by some chance the food is not good then I can get a refund.

I recently got a new cat off of Craigslist. The previous owners had said that he was not a very picky eater. I went to the store to find what I thought I should get for my new pet. I had looked at IAMS indoor formula and was going to with that. However, I saw Evolve and what really caught my eye was that it is made in the USA. I couldn't find where IAMS was made; it wasn't on the package. So I figured that I would give it a shot. Mind you, Evolve only cost 3 more cents than a 7lb of IAMS. My cat instantly took a liking to it. What I had noticed for the first day or so was that my cat's stools smelled really bad. However after a few days on Evolve, that smell has greatly reduce. It could have been what the previous owners were feeding him. The only problem that I do have with it is, yes, the stools are generally soft and can sometimes get on fur. But, if you love your cat enough you are willing to do anything for him. Overall, my cat and I really like this pet food and I would recommend it to anyone.

I have two outdoor cats that came with the house we purchased. One cat was particularly lazy and overweight. I tried several foods before finding this one. Note these cats were accustomed to an inexpensive brand like Meow Mix. I feed my dogs grain free and wanted to do the same for the cats. Tried several grain free but cats didn't seem to care for it. This one is well-received--they show up for dinner and don't hesitate to eat. The change in behavior is amazing: the "lazy" cat has slimmed down a lot and is now quite active--good and bad: we don't have a mouse problem but also can't use bird feeders. Circle of life, I know. The other cat who is a huge ball of fur looks much healthier as well.
