A fabulous ending to an amazing trilogy!!!, June 5, 2011
This is Melanie's best book thus far!
As Felicity and Cain's relationship continues to grow they are both faced with making difficult choices that will change the course of their lives forever. Despite her love for Cain, can Felicity bear the idea of giving up her future human life of marriage, children, grandchildren, and a career? Can she say goodbye to her family to live alongside Cain in an undead existence for eternity? She loves him with everything she is, but is it enough? Cain is having his own internal moral battle regarding changing Felicity over. He wants nothing more than her by his side forever, but must debate the implications of taking her human life.
Of course there is more excitement with the rest of the gang: Ben, Sindy, Allie, and the return of Mattie as we get ready for the first book of the second trilogy Born to Blood. Evolving Ecstasy is an excellent read with an unbelievable ending that left me in tears!

Ms. Nowak leaves the best for last...,, October 20, 2009
If you are reading this review you probably already know what the two previous books are about - but just in case you haven't, here it goes. "For Felicity, college turns out to be more of an adventure than she bargains for when she finds that her school is plagued by vampires! She becomes friends with Ben from the bookstore where she works. One night Ben and Felicity got attacked by some vamps. A guy named Cain comes to their rescue. Cain and Felicity start to have a relationship and the book mostly focuses on that."
This book picks up right after the second book. I liked this book better than the first two. Cain and Felicity start to have some problems with their relationship. Also in this book, I think there is a lot of action and emotional moments that makes the book hard to put down. Ben is in this book a lot more than the second, which was nice and you also get to find out more about Allie and Sindy.
This is my review for the third book only. The author doesn't have as many run on thoughts that we saw in the first two books. I think her writing keeps gets better and better as she finishes with each book. I still think Cain is just a fickled vampire which does not set well with me.
I really loved the third book!!! After reading the first and second book of the trilogy, I am even more hooked if you can believe that. In this book Cain's actions from the second book come back to haunt him, which I am glad!!!
I have to say I was surprised how the book ends. I didn't know how it would end until the last sentence. I kept thinking something would come up. It is not very often that a book has me in guessing. I was happy with the ending but I felt there could have been a little more written about it (I made a discussion on my thoughts under this title, please feel free to use it if you want to discuss this great trilogy but keep in mind - it is all Spoilers).

In my estimation you can actually see the growth of this author in this book, Evolving Ecstasy, Book 3 of the Almost Human Series. As the plot thickens, the story becomes even more enticing.
Felicity is faced with the question, "Do I wish to become Immortal?" As their mutual attraction continues, Cain is faced with the dilemma of what to do with this child/woman that has managed to win her way into his heart. Years of experience and self-examination have taught him that decisions not carefully thought out come back to bite him...sometimes literally. He has already made a grave mistake with Sindy, and they both paid dearly for it.
Allie continues her secret relationship with Mattie and awaits his return. Cain has taught Mattie well over the years-- beginning from when he found him in a parking lot awaiting death by sunrise, not long after being turned. Ben in the meantime, lives in a world of denial and fear based-hate, busying himself by dating every Barbie Doll on campus..
The end of the book has a surprise twist that might be painful to some. But I must say, even though our author has been preparing us for this conclusion, it is still an emotional read. Remember Happily Ever After is in the eyes of the beholder. I have chosen not include spoilers in this review so as not to take away from this wonderful story, or its surprise ending...you are all just going to have to read it for yourselves!
The next book Born to Blood by Ms Nowak will be out the end of May. Read our review of it here First...
