To put the handle on the rake head, apply a little soap/detergent and water to the black threaded end of the handle. Expand the handle enough to leave a good gripping area on the thin end of the handle. Push the threaded end of the handle into the round opening in the head and rotate the handle clockwise until the thread grips into the grooves in the head. Keep turning until most of the thread is embedded. It is easier to attach the rake head with two people, with one holding the head and the other turning the handle. This is designed to be very tight so that the handle and rake head will not separate during use.

I noticed that several people complained that this product requires a lot of elbow grease to use, but I do not find this to be the case, any more than mopping the kitchen floor. It does require that you apply pressure, but I think that is true with almost any type of cleaning. So I didn't find that using this product was any more of a work out than any other cleaning I do...it would be a bit like complaining about a lawn mower because you were sweating while using it.
This broom did a GREAT job picking up my long hairs from the carpet, and got some of the short cat hairs as well. Based on my experience, if you were to buy this product because you have a pet with long hair, I think it would perform well. I actually had no idea how much of my long hair was embedded in the carpet...and after using this broom, then running the vacuum over the carpet, it looked amazing. The broom even helped to pick up the pile in the carpet. It also pulled embedded dirt to the surface, making it easier to vacuum. I really could not have asked for more from this product, it did everything I wanted it to. Add that it costs less than 15 dollars, and I am a very, very satisfied customer.
Although I will never admit it to the salesman; this broom is the most effective tool for removing pet hair that I have ever used. The rubber bristles create friction which pulls the hairs embedded in the carpet fibers.
After vacuuming your carpet, the 'Sweepa' will loosen and remove hair which the suction of a vacuum could not remove. I was, more than, embarrassed by the amount of hair this sweeper gathered. I'm surprised that anyone in the house could breath.
I use the 'Pet Hair Magnet' on my furniture and drapes. It is a short handled tool which uses the same principle as the 'Sweepa' (friction).
I've never given a broom as a gift. However, I am giving the 'Sweepa' to my friends, with pets, as gifts. No doubt, they will assume the broom is one of my gag gifts; until they use it.
The photo is from out dogs favorite spot on the carpet and we couldn't see ANY hair when I started raking!!!
I even used it to squeegy the wood planks on my back deck after hosing it down.
I'd give it 5 stars if it were maybe 2" wider, but other than that, I mean come on. 11 bucks? You can't go wrong.
NOTE: doesn't really work on carpets unless you have a lot of time on your hands. But for houses with lots of hardwood or tile, highly recommended.

Love! If you have animals this is perfect. The only trouble I've had is sweeping in to the dust pan. I decided to keep the old broom for that task.Published 1 hour ago by kristen macneill
Sweeps floors well, "defurmigates" rugs nicely, and scrubs soapy water / cleanser well on pet stained spots while saving your back. But the end does fall off easily. Read morePublished 19 hours ago by anonymous
This broom works perfectly for our high-pile carpet. My vacuum becomes easily overwhelmed by a lot of hair, and has to be cleaned after just a few minutes of use. Read morePublished 2 days ago by K Kissaw

Amazing! I have long hair and shed worse than a house cat. It drives my husband mad. Vacuums with roller brushes get tangled or burned out, while canister vacuums leave the hair... Read morePublished 3 days ago by Charlotte Owen
