4.0 out of 5 stars Okay
I got the Safe Slice after slicing into my thumb (dumb cooking move). This is a good product in that it does what it says it will do (protect your fingers). But, it definitely makes cutting more difficult. You are farther away from the knife, so it's harder to make small slices. It changes your grip on the food, so I never feel like I have a secure grip. I'm glad...

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing tool
Very hard to slice food with it. Tried slicing an onion and the onion flew off the counter, very awkward to hold. Don't reccomend it.

This product needs to be rigid. Since it's flexible, it moves too much during slicing. Not what I was expecting.

I'm sorry I bought it. It doesn't work well when you're trying to slice small items and that's when you need it most to work.

I'm glad that I won't be cutting my fingers ever again and hopefully I'll get used to it so that I pull it out every time I cut produce.

What a cute gadget. Keeps me from slicing my fingers while cutting celery, onions, carrots, etc. Works beautifully.

I find this item a little trying to use. It does not hold certain objects in place and slips with others. It is however comforting to know that I have it and will persevere with using it - maybe in time I will master it.

i'm still on the fence about this product. i saw it on dr. oz and wanted to try it. i think it's a great idea but when actually trying to use it it's kind of awkward and hard to use. about hte only thing i use it for is carrots, it's not flexible enough to easily hold smaller items. i've ended up just not using it most of hte time i cut vegetables, which is why i bought it. i didn't pay much so i'm not really upset about the purchase, but if it were more than few dollars i don't think it's really worth it. maybe a good idea for people who are constantly cutting themselves in the kitchen or are really clumsy or maybe for a kid first starting to cook, etc, but for anyone who does well enough on their own, i say just skip it and stick with what you know.

2.0 out of 5 stars a little unwieldly, January 27, 2011

i found this product to be pleasant to look at and it seems sturdy--the only thing is that i have found it to be a little hard to use because maybe my fingers are small and it doesn't fit as snugly as i would like--
