Fairly decent.,

This was not necessarily a typical purchase for me, as I usually prefer other styles. Upon hearing the first few songs, these adjectives sprung to mind "melodic, slacker, glam". That's how I would describe it. The first 5 songs are very good and have nice choruses; unfortunately the second half winds it down, and is almost formulaic singer/songwriter stuff. If they would have continued in the same vein as they started, it would have been an excellent release. So, 4 stars for the first half; 2 for the second=3.

No, I don't know the band...,

Nor am I a label person. I just really like this album. To be honest I'm a little put off that the last reviewer found it out of the realm of possibility that people legitimately think this band is good just because she/he didn't think they were anything special. People are way more intense about liking much more mediocre stuff. Just had to get that off my chest. Sure, there is a lot of pop/rock out there and most of it isn't very good but a lot of it ends up on the radio anyway, don't know how that happens. Basically these are just really well structured pop songs. The singer has a nice catch in his voice, and the lyrics are thoughtful. No real dark or serious stuff but they fit the tone of the music. The production may be a little slick depending on what you're into, but the band is undoubtedly genuine. I can understand the Maroon 5 comparisons these guys get, but I think they're better. Less pseudo-funk posturing. Overall I think it's a big accomplishment to make an album that stands out in such a bloated genre. Most of all, I give this a high rating because I find myself putting it on all the time and I haven't gotten tired of it at all.

Finally, an album you can listen to from beginning to end!,

These do exist; you just don't find them very often.
"Ex-Girlfriends", the debut album from Low Millions is one of them and promises a little something for every mood. "Eleanor", the first single from the album, is one everyone can sing-along with. Upbeat, great lyrics, and great vocals from lead singer Adam Cohen. "100 Blouses", an ironic track about searching for a lost love in the "love" of others. A mellow track and hopefully, the bands next single. "Diary", a darker track with an edgy beat. Fave lyrics - "I read how you resent me, you even dreamed that I was dead. You said you thought that I'd look stunning with a bullet in my head." "Statue", another mellow track about lost love. Upbeat at times. A great song to drive to... don't ask ;). "Nikki Don't Stop", a sultry track that doesn't need a whole lot more description. "Hotter than a stolen Rolex, hotter than late-night phone sex"... need I go on? Those are just a few of my favorite tracks, but again, the entire album is set on repeat. The album title is fitting, seeing as how every track is essentially a love song, each with its own individual feel and sound. Add one more die-hard fan to the growing list. These guys are gonna be around for a while.
