5.0 out of 5 stars Great for toddlers...a lot of fun for the price.
I bought this for my son who's almost 3 years old. He tried the Kiddi-o Supertrike 2 and 3 and all the other more expensive tricycles but this is the one he likes. He also owns another tricycle but he has trouble pushing the pedals because the alignment is not as good as this one. 3.0 out of 5 stars German Precision not found in this trike
I bought this trike for my 2 year, but she barely reached the pedals. She's pretty tall for her age, about 34 inches. So, I tried to adjust the seat forward. No can do. The seat is made of plastic molding, and it did not fit properly when the seat was adjusted forward. I couldn't even get the seat's bolt to aligned with the frame's bolt hole. Ok, so maybe we'll wait until...

He also owns another tricycle but he has trouble pushing the pedals because the alignment is not as good as this one. Because of the elevation on the center of each tires in this trike it's very easy to maneuver and smooth to ride. He loves it and won't trade it for the other more expensive trikes. If you're looking for a great non expensive trike and your child will actually love to use, this is the one. If your child does not like his trike try this one!!!

This tricycle is a Kettler made in Germany. If you go into a bike store and look at a Kettler tricycle, which looks the same as this one, it will cost you more then $100. My daughter has a 2 wheel bike with training wheels since she is really tall for a 3-year-old, but she does not ride it and we thought she could not ride a bike yet- Wrong! We went to Toys R Us and sat her on this tricyce. We thought she'd be way too big for it since she is 43" tall, but she has room to grow on it still. We set the seat to the middle position and the length of the bike is set in the middle as well (both positions are adjustable!) They told me at her Preschool that she was starting to learn to ride a tricycle but I never witnessed it. Well at Toys R Us she took off on this bike and rode around the aisles and the people with stunning grace and agility. Needless to say we bought the bike for her right away. For only $30 you get top-of-the-line quality and a bike that will grow with your child for years to come. I bet it will last a long time and work perfectly for my 2-month-old several years from now as well. The best bargain toy you will ever find.

Ok, so maybe we'll wait until she grows a bit. But, the trike has other annoyances...the handle bar does not stay in position. It rotates off-centered with the slightest movement. I have to re-center the handle bar every few minutes. The reason the handle bar shifts all the time is because it is held by u-shaped clamp that's fastened together by a tiny screw. Picture a 10-foot Christmas tree (the handle bar) being clamped by a 1-inch clamp, fastened with a 1/4 inch screw. See how long the tree stays straight. More annoyances, the handle bar didn't fit properly with the U-shaped clamp. I had to widen the clamp with makeshift tools, using pliers with one hand and a metal bar with the other. Don't waste your money on this product. The colors are nice, and the German heritage sounded promising, but there are no signs of precision in this trike.

It appears to be a fine trike. I purchased for my 18-month old son, and he absolutely loves his new "car-car." It seems to be a good fit, and I llike the way that he sits to the back instead of up high like a regular trike. I'm a little wary of it's durability (there is quite a bit of plastic in it, and I wish the tires were rubber -- not with just a rubber strip). Although, one of my 14-year-old son's friend's sat in it, and it didn't even squish down. EASY to assemble. I assembled it in about 10 or so minutes with the baby in it (he wouldn't get off). Instructions well organized and in English; hardware well organized. ... If it is truly durable, then I don't think you could get a better deal....

I am really not sure what these other people are talking about when they say the trike tips and the handlebars wont stay tight?? Maybe they should have had it assembled at the store. I took my son to pick out a trike for his second birthday. I took all the bikes down that were his size and made him get on each one. He kept going back to this one. He rode it up and down the isles of the store for at least an hour, getting up to speeds that made me very uncomfortable...I just knew that he would tip (as most trikes do)but he didnt...not once. I was impressed. I was also impressed of the speed of the tires. Most of the trikes that we looked at seemed to roll very slowly...not this one...it zipped right along. The handle bars were tight...it didnt shift a bit or rattle...or squeek for that matter. It is pretty solid. So, to those who complain about the tipping...any bike, trike or even big wheel (and we all know how low to the ground those are)is going to tip at the right speed and angle. Just like with anything else...your child has to learn how to steer and control speed in order to keep from tipping...for that matter, some adults need to learn the same thing as far as cars are concerned. If you go from trike to trike seeking one that wont tip, you will be FOREVER buying trikes and one day you will get one that doesnt tip....but guess what?...it wont be because you found the best trike ever made...it will be because your child finally learned how to ride the thing. Now, as far as the few complaints about the handle bars...maybe, just maybe you should purchase it already assembled...pretty small price (usually $10)to pay to never have to worry or complain about it...dont you think?

Overall...Great trike...when we went to leave the store, my son wrapped his little legs around it and wouldnt let go...I think he would sleep with it if we would let him. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Kid's Love To Peddle Away On This Classic Trike!, November 2, 2003

This colorful tricycle is perfect for a toddler's first biking adventure. The trike is safe and sturdy, with a scratch resistant high-carbon steel frame and a very comfortable, adjustable high back seat. A big plus is that the tricycle won't wear out before your child does. It can be used for children up to five years-old. And the price is right!!

I bought this for my cousin's son, who is 28 months. It took him a few hours to catch on to peddling, and then he was off and away, giggling the whole time. This toy provides a means for exercise and motor skill development - and hours of fun. I decided to buy this model after reading the reviews on Amazon for many different tricycles. He and his sister had been fighting over her bike, now they both want to ride this one. I am so glad that I made this choice, and so is my cousin and her son! The big sis wants one too, but she is ready for a two wheeler, with training wheels, of course.

1.0 out of 5 stars Kiddi-o Supertrike-1 is DANGEROUS!!!!, May 14, 2001

I too bought this trike for my 2 year old son at Christmas time, specifically because his little legs didn't reach the pedals of the other trikes. He rode the bike around the house during the winter and took many spills. At first, I thought it was because he was going from hard wood to carpet etc., and thought it would be better when he got out side to the drive way. Well, like the last reviewer, I had to run along beside him and hold the handle bars so that he wouldn't tip over. One incident with scraped elbows and knees was enough for him. Now he just looks at the bike or trys to ride his siblings two wheelers. It seemed to be the same amount of work for me- and didn't serve any purpose for him, except to get a free ride. Needless to say, today we went out and bought him the Radio Flyer Classic Trike and will fit it with blocks on the pedals until he grows into it. I am very disappointed to have purchased this dangerous tricycle ... I wish we had tried it out by having him ride it in the store rather than just seeing if it fit his two year old legs. I agree- this trike should definitely be recalled!!!!!!!!!

My 2 year old twins love these trikes. It took a few months for them to reach the pedals, but ever since they've been zooming! Very sturdy (doesn't tip even with the craziest of driving), colorful & easy to maneuver. Hours and hours of continued fun!

After a dissapointing go around with a radio flyer trike, we went out and bought this trike at toys r us. Great price at 19.99 on sale, so we figured why not. I feel the bike is built extremely well. The stearing is very easy, the wheels have a strip of rubber on the outside so its easier to move on pavement compared with plastic tires, and its oh so quiet. My favorite feature is that its very hard to tip. With our previous trike, it tipped with little effort, but this trike is very sturdy. I thought on the box it said 18 months and up, however on this site it says 24 months. Our son is 21 months and can reach the pedals but loses them slightly when they are at the furthest point when pedaling. To give you an idea he is 35 inches tall (tall for his age), so if your child is around this height, know it will be only a matter of months before they can reach everything. Im very pleased with this trike and for the money, you can't really beat it.

This is the best trike ever. I had a radio flyer, but it was so heavy, my 2 1/2 year-old son could bearly make it go, could hardly reach the pedals, and he never wanted to use it. Now that he has this trike, he loves riding it. He can go really fast on it, so he really feels a sense of accomplishment, demonstrated by the huge smile on his face when he rides. It doesn't tip over easily like the other trike either. One note, he is on the tall side, but we still had to use the smallest settings in order for him to reach the pedals. Lots of room to grow with this trike, but someone younger than 2 1/2 may not be able to reach the pedals at first. Once they can reach, though, it is very easy to pedal. I highly recommend this trike, and what a great price!
